I don’t think it was necessary to put rapper in quotes. I don’t know what he has done recently but he went through a stretch a few years ago with some good pop rap music. (Donald trump and knock knock off the top of my head)
Faces and Macadelic were great projects I can still listen to front to back. It was clear from those albums he was dealing with some major demons.
The Devine Feminine was not up my alley, but it showed some of his versatility.
I think Ariana Grande getting engaged to Butthole Eyes 6 months after their break up really pushed him over the edge.

Mac Miller had some decent songs and was a solid writer. Passing away at 26 is very young to go out. Too many artists love hardcore drugs whether it be at first to hopefully gain creativity to later getting hooked or using them to cope with stress.
Ironic one of the last songs he released is called "Come Back to Earth".
