Great flick . Even better book. The amount sounds correct or in the ballpark. My favorite scene from that movie is when the bookie is asking for his bets and Mahoney is in a hurry and he says give me all the home teams in the American league and all the away teams in the National league for $1.000.00 per game . Bookie says he doesn't bet right lol.

Other great line in that movie is when bookie says to his runner . You know why Mahoney wants to win? So he can lose some more. True about compulsive gamblers
