it's weird but there really are a ton of parallels with AOC and trump.
trump says he's going to build a wall and get mexico to pay for it. he knew that wasn't true. his supporters knew that wasn't true. but they didn't care cause he's on their side and he's "correct" on the issue.
AOC says climate change will kill us all within 12 years. i'm sure she knows that's not true. her supporters know that's not true. but they don't care cause she's "correct" on the issue.
same with her view on taxing billionaires 70%. she knows this won't happen. her supporters know this won't happen but it doesn't matter cause her heart is in the "right" place.
the entire republican establishment despises trump, just like the democrat ruling class despises her.
like it or not -- and this is truly unbelievable -- she's the face of the democrat party, with appearances on the late night talk shows whenever she wants.
she's beginning to transcend politics and go into rock star mode... kind of like trump.

none of this is unrealistic and the reasonable worst case for all these things being tangible issues for the whole planet is 12 years. the source of this are people who spend their entire lives studying the science at bar.
so lumping her in with a guy who claimed with total earnestness that climate change was a 'chinese conspiracy' seems like basically druff level hyperbole.
