You don't really have to legalize everything everything. Just enough that path of least resistance takes most users to legal options.

There are some really shitty research chemicals that exists solely as substitutes for amphetamine, MDMA and LSD.

There isn't a huge reason to ever legalize Fentanyl and it's even deadlier cousins. Heroin will do just fine or if there are safer synthetic opiates that still do the trick they work just as well.

Most Psilocybin are extremely safe. You like need a few legal benzos.

Commonly used drugs from the last 20 years are there because they are all relatively safe. For the user and everyone around them. Most people aren't looking for psychosis, heart attack or respiratory failure.

Who in the US can't get uppers today? Where cocaine isn't piss easy to get is just meth country and there's 25 million Adderall prescriptions around. That's not counting Ritalin/Concerta and Dexedrine/Vyvanse.

    Mormons?

There is zero point zero chance that hard drug use would go down here if it were legalized. Why would it? That violates all common sense.

In the window of time between college and my heavy involvement with poker -- a period of about 10 years -- I couldn't easily get hard drugs. I didn't run in such a crowd, and neither did any of my friends. If I had my heart set upon snorting coke, I'm sure I could have made it happen eventually, but there was no way to get it done without a lot of effort. This is true for a large number of Americans. Unless you know someone who does the stuff (and is open about it), or unless you're part of a big community like poker where drug use is common, you're going to have to expend effort. It's a barrier to entry, and it actually keeps the usage down among those who are on the fence.

You legalize and regulate something, it's the government putting their stamp on it that it's considered okay. Look at the attitudes about pot compared to 20 years ago. It's far more accepted now, especially where it's already legalized. Once something is legal, it's seen as an option you can turn to if the mood strikes. It's like alcohol -- everyone knows the potential downsides, but if you want to drink tonight, you go down to the corner store and get some. Zero thought involved, and zero barrier to entry.

Keeping dealing criminalized and decriminalizing usage would solve a lot of this. It keeps the barrier to entry, while not making criminals out of people who develop a drug habit. Sounds fair to me.

the bolded part is complete and utter bullshit. look at countries that have legalized, all drug usage has gone down.

legalizing and regulating is not govt approval, I dont get where you are coming from with that. People do all kinds of shit that is legal, doesnt mean the govt approves. It just means they dont go to jail for bullshit

I think the last time we had this talk with Druff his response was that no other country could be compared to US. Portugal being smaller and whatever.

I can't remember why alcohol prohibition patterns in the US wouldn't be the same as drug prohibition, but i'm sure it was something stupid. During the time consumption wasn't illegal by federal law.

tell me more about how all you red blooded heterosexuals have such big problems with this woman:

"Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness." - Alejandro Jodorowsky

"America is not so much a nightmare as a non-dream. The American non-dream is precisely a move to wipe the dream out of existence. The dream is a spontaneous happening and therefore dangerous to a control system set up by the non-dreamers." -- William S. Burroughs

I don’t have any problems with her, until she opens her mouth and says all of the Marxist and anti-Semitic stuff she says. But, visually this Latina is delicious.

Except she never does that, you get your news from liars, and to top it off, you couldn't explain Marxism in a million years.
Or being a conservative (its includes being pro military, and cops, the GQP is not that/ it includes Family Values -but you like Matt Gaetz drugging & f'ing girls a yr out of HS at the most./& Trump) or socialism. You know what Tucker Carlson wants you to know. IDK if you don't watch him or not, all RW is in his vacuum.

You idiots call her crazy, Why? Cuz she wants healthcare for all? Climate change? People not having to work 2-3 jobs to get by?
I just think of how well the RW propaganda machine works on thin skinned beta males where this lunatic just found out the Holocaust was bad. Jewish space laser. June 31st,
but she is less crazy? LOL, Fox "news" only focus' on the good ones. AOC has gone off on one Dem after another, but Fox can't cover that, then they can't keep calling her crazy.

This woman is as jealous of AOC as anyone whoever posted about San Francisco, is of the best city in the world.

She forgot to mention the 25k jobs she killed by telling Amazon not to open a facility in her district.

She forgot to mention the 25k jobs she killed by telling Amazon not to open a facility in her district.
    Not her district.

By the original proposal Amazon agreed to "create" cumulative 700 net new jobs in 2019, 2900 in 2020 and 5900 in 2021. The "new" jobs only excluded 4700 then current Amazon employees from New York State.

In 2019 New York had 8k Amazon jobs. 1500 was announced and apparently 1800 just found their way to Amazon roster without fanfare.

In 2020 New York has at least 10k Amazon jobs. 2k was announced. I don't care enough to find out what the real number is. All i know is that the number of net new jobs is already 5300.

For 2021 the hiring goal is either already filled or they need 600 new jobs.

So far it looks like AOC has saved NYC 100 million dollars from the hiring incentives alone.

Arlington site that had a similar deal to NY has about 3500 workers now and some might qualify as new jobs. NY has 5300 new jobs. One of those numbers is bigger.

Was Amazon HQ2 opening in her district?

Did New York get 3.5k jobs that Amazon announced?

    https://d39w7f4ix9f5s9.cloudfront.ne...-agreement.pdf

    ...page 19.

"The grant is intended to reimburse the Recipient for a portion of its investment in New York; therefore, Grant funds will be disbursed annually in arrears during the fifteen (15) year term listed below when the full investment milestone for each Project Year is achieved."

Project Year Net New Jobs Investment Disbursement
    (Cumulative)

    2019 700 $64,512,000 $33,400,000
    2020 2,900 $202,752,000 $26,400,000

Casual 60 million dollars for 2900 jobs without accounting for other incentives.

Only thing that wasn't false in your original post was "She forgot to mention".

ps. either say something or stfu, this is just my after 2 years review of this story and it played out like i said in 2019

First of all, her district includes Queens, so STFU.

Second of all, you can play around with semantics all day long, but even Cuomo acknowledged that she cost NY 25k in jobs. So, STFU. You lose once again.
