That’s exactly why he doesn’t want to post what it is.

Doctors will always roll their eyes when you mention the internet, but they're dead wrong.

Some solid advice out there for all sorts of conditions. Like specialist forums full of people who're living and treating the same illness.

I'm not talking about 'Yahoo Answers' and other such gibberish places.

The condition itself is not life-threatening, but it is life-altering and I'm basically miserable every day (though some more than others).

Yesterday I dealt with 8 hours of hell from 2pm-10pm, before things finally moderated (it goes back and forth between moderate, bad, and terrible.)

I've lost 17 pounds since this all started, though my weight seems to have stabilized for the past few days.

Sleeping is incredibly difficult to do, and taking sleep medication just makes it worse.

It's amazing to think that, just 3 weeks ago, I was feeling fine.
    Is it MS?

Druff, I know you mentioned that weight loss isn’t an issue anymore given how you are already making progress, but I think you might like to know of this opportunity to pocket some cash as you lose weight this year. And you probably aren’t two far from one of two universities in southern Cali for it to be prohibitive timewise for you to participate.

Researchers at US universities are offering $300 each to 1,000 people willing to eat avocados every day
    https://www.thisisinsider.com/resear...ery-day-2018-8

A joint university study is paying participants to eat avocados.

Loma Linda University (LLU), Penn State University, Tufts University, and the University of California, Los Angeles are each recruiting 250 test subjects.

Participants in the test group will either be required to eat one avocado per day throughout the six-month study, or to only eat two avocados during the same period.

Upon successful completion of the study, they will receive $300 each.

The study is to test the hypothesis that avocados could promote weight loss.
Plus, who doesn’t like avocado toast?!

BCR: I’m totally serious. Druff can easily pocket the $300 by having an avocado each day for 6 months. Plus, avocado’s aren’t acidic; they are mostly the good kind of fat. Perfect for a diet to reduce gastric reflux.

BCR: Does this feel like the right thread for this nonsense?

JohnCommode: $300,000 not $300 seems like the appropriate compensation for adopting an avocado diet.

People on here would spend time searching the webs looking for ways to help. Or they may even have friends/family who suffers from the same condition.

Has he gotten a secondary diagnosis? He already posted he had LPR, which in and of itself, sounds like a bitch.

It seems a lot of time when things are worse than they are supposed to be, or more debilitating and tough to diagnose, they end up falling under the auto-immune umbrella. I had a friend go from reflux to an autoimmune diagnosis recently.

It's Lupus. Very difficult to treat and very uncomfortable, but generally not fatal in a short period of time. You can recover from it.

Got the impression from his posts that there's something other than LPR going on. Hopefully, I'm wrong tho.

I've seen several neurologists myself over the last 3 years for a condition which they're yet to diagnose. Been put through all sorts of machines and they found fuckall.

The symptoms I have told them it could be anything from restless legs to MS. Thankfully, those have all but been ruled out now.

My symptoms still persist and have to see the neurologist every 6 months, but unlike Druff, it isn't some that has a negative effect on my life.

But yeah, like you touched on, parts of the immune system is still something the medical world have very little clue about.

Sounds like Lupus, a friend of mine had it in college. Had to take a semester off, but they came back almost as good as new.

Yeah but the weight gain is only because that one time it was a really good deal to order 7 hot dogs. He's been eating more ever since those hot dogs stretched out his stomach.

I have several pieces of evidence that this is LPR and nothing else:

Who would have guessed just how painful your weight loss “journey” would have been so far when you started this thread? And that it would be so debilitating that it would practically derail your life.

I realize that this is PFA, and people can say what they want, but I'm not being an "internet doctor" and what I have is very real and debilitating.

So if you want to make jokes, go ahead, but keep in mind I've been suffering every day for almost 3 weeks, and it's not close to being better, nor is there any clear path to it at this point.

You do have a clear diagnosis though now?

If so what are the treatment options?

He has Lupus. I have seen this before and I know what I am talking about. It's totally treatable, no offense to Druff but this is really drama queen shit. It's completely treatable, uncomfortable yes, but totally treatable.

On the bright side, you're more than half way there in just 2 weeks, right? Just make sure not to stretch your stomach out when you get better.

Druff it's time for some good drugs. Sounds like you need them.

On a side note and not trying to make light, but I have a brother and sister in law who
named their dog Lupus. When I first heard this I looked at my wife in disbelief but she
had had enough of me by then
