    Road Trip, never ever

En route and I hit 40 degrees celcius in Medicine Hat, look it up. Most beautiful small town there is but this is worse than Orlando heat
Dragged my ass through Greater Vancouver and I would welcome an H bomb for it and every large city.
    No pics yet

Here we go, Day two and a half. Tried to make it to the prairies from Vancouver Island in one trip.

I drove all night (Thursday) and only reached Calgary by 9 a.m. Friday and was mentally and physically washed up.
And liquor stores don't open until 10 in Alberta,so there's that.
Dropped in at the first hotel to my right and it's a hum dinger. 40 degrees outside so caught up on my sleep and will be staying a second night.
Free use of bikes so I'm doing the town. Pics coming not that anyone cares but Medicine Hat (Canada's Hat) ho ho is a beautiful small town.

Going to have some work done on my vehicle cause I made a purchase at my final destination which will surprise a few on this forum.
    Anyway fuck everyone. Often.

Day three. Capital city of Saskatchewan. Rhymes wirh vagina. Left at 6:30 a.m. and rewadred with a great hotel and early round coverage of the PGA final.

Also, just across the street from the town's big casino.
Full disclosure, I've not played live poker once. Thousands of hours online. Should I bother?

    What say you Baron?

ughgh. Not the update I had in mind. Went to the casino as mentioned for the first time live. 200 bucks dropped like a fart in a pool. Or a piss. then was dissed at a bar for knowing Seinfeld trivia. didn't realize there was some lame ass game going on and was actually asked to leave. Yeah a paying customer
I will firebomb this establishment, watch the news

I would say defiantly you should play. There are rich native Indians in those casinos going all in with bottom pair or hilarious bluffs.... get a security escort when you leave if you clean up tho.
Dip those rednecks in aa bit of booze and things can get a little nutty.
experienced something similar in a Edmonton casino recently.

    have fun!

edit: or blowing the place up sound ok too.

There was some 100-200 limit player on Stars from Regina. Forget who.

Anyway, I used to call him "the vagina from Regina", and it really tilted him.

Ah, how I miss those days...

Les, can you explain why you're driving across Canada like this?

It doesn't look like you're doing any sightseeing.

I mean, you should have at least stopped over at Butchart Gardens for the Saturday night fireworks show. It's the best fireworks show I've ever seen. Had to push the gf very hard to stay around for it (she was super-concerned about the traffic getting out), and she was very happy I talked her into it.

Despite my trash talk about your pseudo-socialist country, I have visited several provinces there in the 2010s (including last year), and enjoyed all of those trips.

    Day 3 and a half - four.
Yes, I am going to reveal much in this thread. Personal shit but stuff I always guarded for some reason.

I drove like a maniac cause I wanted to get back home. I was born in Regina, Sask but was uprooted at age 14 when the family moved to Victoria, B.C.
The move kinda fucked me up. Was cock of the walk, then not so much.

Funny you mentioned Butchart Gardens. Indeed, one of the most beautiful places on the planet and I bought my daughter and her soon to be husband yearly passes. Don't think they've gone yet.

Any who, today is the day. I made a purchase online centred around this trip. Will be posting a lot of pics..... some will recognize the irony.

OMG I got my ass handed to me at the casino. At least no one laughed as a limped away.

BTW, filling up at a gas station yesterday, the guy in front of me has a W.S.O.P. t-shirt on. I have to strike up a conversation and yeah he's played in the big event and is planning on going back. Small world

almost forgot shoutouts to Baron, Tony B and BGC(eye see you)

Traveling the distance between Victoria and Regina is a fairly long haul, so when you’re on a mission to go home you generally aren’t gonna stop in the middle of the fucking worst traffic cities in Canada to see some goddam flowers , the prairies are calling.

Been to Regina many times, went to SAIT in Moosejaw and have some close relatives in Asinaboia

The best pizza in Regina IMO is called Huston pizza old place been there 50 years owned by Greeks who got there pizza game down packed.

Speeding is allowed and encouraged in Saskatchewan if I remember correctly?

Good god, you could not be more Canadian. This trip is blowing my mind. Check into my new doggie friendly hotel(cheap) and what’s on the t.v.? Corner Gas
    No conspiracies
I think I saw a sign for Huston pizza and it's now a destination.
    Also, Yankees, I’m near a Carl’s Jr. Should I?

Sorry, missed the question. No he's a purebred Scottie. And by purebred I mean, the vets are hauling in the dough to keep this kid alive. He's got allergies and the medicine to keep him from scratching himself to death is what will end up killing him. Immunity problems with this medicine. And it's 3 bucks a day before the hypo-allergenic diet he's on. But it's holidays and the boys will play when the wife is away.
    Woo hoo

And a delay on the purchase I referenced earlier. Going to cost me more but I don't give a flying fuck.

Also, shout out to CMoney and hey Bubbles

Yeah, really good guess. Will neither confirm nor deny. Just a day or so away as something needs ordering in.
Guaranteed it will put a smile on a face or two

Btw, got a good laugh from two hotel employees managing the breakfast seating when I asked if the bar was open. Had to just come out and tell them that I was hung over and on holidays. Didn't make a difference, had to wait another hour and a bit.
Shout out to all things Northern England

You know how you should never Google anything health related?
BTW, I can't start new threads so this happens.

So anyway I discovered two pretty ugly bruises. Unexplained, except I've had a few beers.
Did a quick Google, only long enough to realize you don't want unexplained bruises.

This could be my farewell trip report and to be honest I'm ok with it if it happens.

    Day 5, I guess
    Beer number one complete.
Surrounded by fast food joints. Got Carl's Jr. or a Fuddruckers. Never been to either

Have a feeling Fuddruckers is Canadian but I know Carl's is U.S based and who does fast food better than the damn Yankees?

Oh yeah. It's delvery day for the online purchase except I have to pick it up.

Oh and hey Baron, I'm real close to a Houston's pizza.
    That will be later

Trouble is my original hitch is bent, don't ask, and I have been pulling my hair out trying to get a new one installed. It's the install that's the big problem. Might take two hours and with the dog and the heat I said forget it and risked carrying it with the bent hitch. Well after the third bottoming out I'm back to trying for the fresh install.

I'm afraid having the pooch with me is a mixed blessing. Always have to worry whether I'm killing him slowly

But back to the Ruckus. I had my share of jabs for Cleatus on his Ruckus, even though I helped to pay for it. Life is strange. Amirite BGC?
