They Caught Me Masturbating (A Scam Story)

Got this one in the ol' inbox today...Wasn't going to post this, but figure 'fuck it' there is enough laughable material in it...seriously there just can't be people that fall for this...and surely the people who are dumb enough to fall for this can't possibly know how to get any bitcoin...and as a guy how the hell could you ever be embarrassed about beating it to porn on the internet...seriously like 99% of the guys who have internet access have beaten it to porn multiple times in their lives...

Let's cut to the chase. I know bigtits47 is your pass word. Most importantly, I know your secret and I've evidence of it. You don't know me and no one employed me to check out you.

It's just your misfortune that I came across your bad deeds. Actually, I actually placed a malware on the adult vids (sex sites) and you visited this site to experience fun (you know what I mean). While you were watching video clips, your web browser initiated operating as a Rdp (Remote desktop) with a key logger which gave me accessibility to your display and webcam. Right after that, my software collected all your contacts from your social networks, and email.

I then gave in much more time than I should have exploring into your life and generated a two view video. 1st part shows the video you were viewing and second part displays the recording of your web cam (its you doing nasty things).

Frankly, I am willing to forget all information about you and let you get on with your regular life. And I will give you two options that can accomplish that. The two option is with the idea to ignore this letter, or simply just pay me $ 1950. Let us explore above two options in more details.

Option One is to ignore this message. Let's see what is going to happen if you pick this path. I will, no doubt send out your video recording to all your contacts including members of your family, coworkers, etc. It won't shield you from the humiliation your family will face when friends and family discover your unpleasant videos from me.

Second Option is to send me $ 1950. We’ll name this my “privacy tip”. Now lets see what will happen if you pick this choice. Your secret remains your secret. I'll erase the recording immediately. You continue on with your routine life that nothing ever happened.

Now you must be thinking, “I should go to the cops”. Without a doubt, I have covered my steps to ensure this email cannot be tracked time for me also it will not prevent the evidence from destroying your daily life. I am not looking to steal all your savings. I am just looking to be paid for my time I placed into investigating you. Let's hope you decide to produce all this go away and pay me my confidentiality fee. You'll make the payment via Bitcoin (if you do not know this, search "how to buy bitcoins" in search engine)

    Transfer Amount: $ 1950
Receiving Bitcoin Address: 1K5i*5evcP9AGuVpj7PmhHucWXs8BzaKtWK (You must Edit * from it then copy and paste it carefully)

Expalin no one what you should be utilising the Bitcoins for or they will often not offer it to you. The procedure to acquire bitcoins may take a short time so do not put it off.
I've a specific pixel within this e mail, and at this moment I know that you've read through this message. You now have 2 days in order to make the payment. If I don't receive the Bitcoin, I will definitely send your video to all of your contacts including relatives, co-workers, and many others. You better come up with an excuse for friends and family before they find out. Nonetheless, if I receive the payment, I will destroy the recording immediately. It is a non negotiable offer, thus kindly do not ruin my time & yours. Time is running out. You should know that my tracker is going to be recording what action you adopt when you are done reading this letter. Let me tell you If I see any wrong activity from your search history I'll share your video recording to your members of your family, co-workers even before time finishes.

I thought this was going to be like the original micon being catfished by Robin story.
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.

    It's BULLSHIT!!!

Sextortion Scam Flaunts Real Passwords, Rakes in $250,000 in Two Weeks

    https://blog.barkly.com/new-sextorti...ds-fake-threat

New take on old email scam references recipients' actual passwords in attempt to make bogus claims more believable.

What's happening? Criminals are sending out scam emails claiming they have recordings of the receivers watching porn.

Why is this any different than similar scams? The criminals are referencing real passwords associated with the recipient's email account.

Are these actually working? Unfortunately, yes. According to one security researcher tracking Bitcoin addresses tied to the campaigns, criminals have made over $250,000 in two weeks.

What should you do if you or a user gets one of these emails? Do not respond or pay the ransom. The criminals are simply using email address and password data pulled from older data breaches.

I am aware [PASSWORD REDACTED] is your password. You don’t know me and you’re thinking why you received this e mail, right?

Well, I actually placed a malware on the porn website and guess what, you visited this web site to have fun (you know what I mean). While you were watching the video, your web browser acted as a RDP (Remote Desktop) and a keylogger which provided me access to your display screen and webcam. Right after that, my software gathered all your contacts from your Messenger, Facebook account, and email account.

    What exactly did I do?

I made a split-screen video. First part recorded the video you were viewing (you’ve got a fine taste haha), and next part recorded your webcam (Yep! It’s you doing nasty things!).

    What should you do?

Well, I believe, $1400 is a fair price for our little secret. You’ll make the payment via Bitcoin to the below address (if you don’t know this, search “how to buy bitcoin” in Google).

    BTC Address: 1Dvd7Wb72JBTbAcfTrxSJCZZuf4tsT8V72
(It is cAsE sensitive, so copy and paste it)

    Important:

You have 24 hours in order to make the payment. (I have an unique pixel within this email message, and right now I know that you have read this email). If I don’t get the payment, I will send your video to all of your contacts including relatives, coworkers, and so forth. Nonetheless, if I do get paid, I will erase the video immidiately. If you want evidence, reply with “Yes!” and I will send your video recording to your 5 friends. This is a non-negotiable offer, so don’t waste my time and yours by replying to this email.

About a week ago I found out a friend of a friend has been sending $1800 a month for a year to the Ivory Coast in an obvious love/dating scam. He's retired but not really old, recently divorced and that may even be why. To make a long story short, the FoF is adamant she's legit and on her way or he's blackmailed like above.

I convinced my friend it's 100% scam by showing him warnings and scam baiting sites with similar scams. I was like fuck that, stop it no matter what. So they have an intervention planned.

So yes, people do fall for those scams, hard. I think the scammer texts him all daily like a legit love interest but I don't really know him. If someone you know is always low on money but shouldn't be, kinda lonely, gullible don't count this out.

    I absolutely couldn't believe it...

The "I have some info to prove I'm legit" scam is incredibly more effective than the random, generic cold call/e-mail scam.

The generic e-mails only manage to ensnare only the most gullible of the gullible.

The targeted info e-mails are a lot more effective, especially given the public's general fear of hackers.

"I've hacked into your computer, can see everything, and to prove it, I can tell you that one of your passwords is 'bigtits47'" is a hell of a lot more powerful than, "I've hacked into your computer and seen everything."

So this scam is netting a pretty penny, because a lot of people visit weird fetish (or perhaps even gay) porn sites that they'd never want peers/family/co-workers to know about, and they figure a sum like $1400 is low enough to where it's worth having the peace of mind that their secrets will stay safe.

This site is inhabited primarily by internet-savvy and scam-savvy people, so none of us are the target audience for such crap.

But the average computer user gets an e-mail from a hacker who "proves" he already has private info (a password), and the victim says, "Crap... this guy probably really did hack me! I mean, yeah, it's possible he got that password from somewhere else, but is it worth taking the chance? It's very possible his story is true! Shit!"

Also, don't underestimate the stupidity of some people who fall for scams. The "Africa dating scam", as referenced by FPS Russia, has been going on for over a decade, and is should be super-obvious to anyone with a room temperature IQ. Still, people of both genders fall for it, honestly believing that the woman/man of their dreams is a westerner working in Africa, who just happens to fall in love with them by the 2nd e-mail and writes broken English.

yeah didn't think of the gay/tranny porn angle...guess that would get you into some shit if you were supposedly straight and looking at that kinda stuff..

wonder how common that is, where a scam like this can hit on dudes who look at that shit instead of just hetero porn...

the overlap between people who dabble in Weird Porn to get off and have jobs and/or relationships they would lose if their browser history became an open book is significant.

what i find fascinating is that somehow there are 125+ people in that field who own bitcoins but are dumb enough to fall for this scam, as of the article above. im guessing younger urban males would match the profile.

The scammers are sending the victims to Bitcoin ATM's. They find the machines with the lowest fees and then send them specific instructions on how to use the machine. It has made the scamming so much easier and almost 100% risk free.

yeah that's exactly what I was thinking on the BTC angle...I know your disdain for BTC, but if you are "smart" enough to own BTC don't know how the hell you would fall for this...

didn't think of the weird shit angle until druff brought it up...that makes sense...guess I didn't give that angle enough credit...but there's millions of hours of porn out there so guess it's not all shit that people would be willing to say, 'yeah I jerk it to that'...

that would make sense, but doesn't seem like this scam goes that route...

and fuck they're trying to get me for almost 2 grand instead of 1400...must have found that two girls, one cup link that I visited...

I think it would probably work better if he said something like, "I know about your big tits password" because that would be a 'positive hit' for anyone who's password is similar to that, but seemingly specific enough (hugeboobs69, bigtittyluver420, etc.), and the number is too specific.

I checked the BTC address and I don't see any transactions in or out of that address.
