Happiness caps at $85K/year today (says this article). I'd just try to find the easiest way to make $80-85K/year and then enjoy life. Best you can do. I can't help much about the depression part.

Having some assets is very relaxing, especially if it is in the millions range cuz it means you can sit on your ass for at least a part of the $80-$85K.

I am likely battling depression. I don't know what the deal is. I have $1.4 Million (which includes many of hundreds of thousands in cash), but I am just depressed. I am going to Smith and Wollensky next week and staying at the Marriott in Manhattan next week. I just bought a Hugo Boss briefcase today, but it did not make me feel good.

I just want to say people battling depression, I am right there with you. Even the $400 tab I ring up and Smith and Wollensky in Midtown next week will not make a difference.

I was dealing with some pretty acute depression a few months ago and was really considering ending things.

I've tried everything in the past (antidepressants, cannabis, brainwave harmonizing, acupuncture)... nothing really had helped... I got by on cannabis, but it was just kind of masking things...

Before I decided to off myself, I saw an article about ketamine being used to treat depression with great results. I had used the drug in the past when I used to hit up raves in my teens and 20s, but that was 2 decades ago, and we cooked it up and snorted back then, where it was really easy to go into a K-hole.

Anyways, these ketamine treatments are kind of expensive, but a man of your wealth should balk at such a petty price tag. Insurance doesn't cover them because this is an off label use of the drug. Each 1 hour and 20 minute treatment was about $400, and I did 4 treatments in the span of 10 days, basically once every 2 or 3 days.

I walked into this clinic and they had me fill out a bunch of waivers, and then I waited in the small waiting room until they called me. They took me back, put me in a comfortable leather recliner, gave me a pillow and blanket, and then hooked me up to an IV of the drug. I put on some wireless headphones, and my first session, decided to put on ambient rainstorms with thunder in the background. I swear that shit started making me trip so hard. Started seeing fractals and getting deep and intropsective. It was a trip cause I was basically under anesthesia but lucid enough to open my eyes a bit, but definitely sunk into that chair and not really able to move my arms or legs.

Anyways, 4 treatments of that, and I've been good as gold. Have had an entire different outlook on life. Things don't bother me like they used to.

I imagine it was similar to what mushroom trips do. The Dr. administering it basically compared it to doing a hard reboot on my brain in computer terms.

Also have you tried meditation? I know many people who have tried on their own and given up.
I was trained, if you will, at the young age of 19 and it has brought me out of depression
on more than one occasion. It doesn't just bring me out, it makes me truly happy.
I call it baby happy because you are happy for apparently no reason at all.
