Ya it's a Willow. We've never really liked it but it's been there 20 years and were selling the domicile so there's that
Why is the grass of all surrounding places dead int he more recent photo? Not saying it's fake just totally confused. BC going through a drought or something?
I'm guessing lighting is making grass look dead?

Yeah we had a streak of summer weather. Also right beside us is an easement leading to a ravine. Doesn't get watered. And beside them the neighbours let their grass go dormant.
As far as liquidity, I'm almost as cheap as the old lady and the beer tastes better after a day's work

It's funny, ya don't look at things the same when they're there everyday, but it is an ugly tree. I've hacked at it but it's never been pruned properly and is more of a giant weed than anything.
Re: the neighbourhood. Not white trash at all. As I said we border a gorgeous ravine leading down to the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island. Can have the kayak on the water within 10 minutes. On the other side of the house is another easement relating to the ravine but all trees, no access. No neighbours across the street again ravine related. Our house is the nicest on the block imo, even without the privacy.
Ya...... that "willow tree" is actually a beautiful and rare weeping birch tree, does not have piercing roots. it is what some would call a fine specimen. do not remove this tree from your yard maybe just trim it a few feet from the ground.
