Some of you might remember this Twitter debacle from 2015.
In that situation, Matt Glantz was blocked by WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel, simply for offering constructive criticism of the WSOP.
Because Glantz is fairly high profile, this got a lot of attention, and tons of others came out with their own stories of Effel blocking them for flimsy/minor reasons. Indeed, at the time both myself and Brandon were blocked from the @WSOPTD Twitter account.
Two days later, Jack unblocked Matt and agreed to unblock anyone else he had blocked in the past. I was unblocked shortly after that, which I requested from a different account so he would see it.
However, check out the @WSOPTD account, and you'll see it hasn't tweeted since December 2017. In fact, it has only tweeted ONCE since July 22, 2017.
Why?
I got my answer on June 3 of this year.
"I've quit Twitter," said Jack to one of the players at the $10k O8 event. "My life is so much less stressful. I just got off of it. It's been a great thing for me."
So you can no longer tweet to the WSOP tournament director, because he has left Twitter.
