Forbes calls Indy America's most underrated city

Druff, I heard on radio you've never been to Indiana. Consider a visit.

Indiana is mostly a sports draw to many. Final Fours, Pro Football Games, College basketball and football are big, and finally The Indianapolis 500 is enjoyable. The state has many parks if you are a nature person that like hiking and camping. We have meth in large quantities if you need a fix. Finally we have the best Tenderloins to eat.

    Indy is a great town.

I've been there a few times for the B1G championship game.

Is this a level? Indy is boring and unsafe.

Reading this thread and pondering whether I'd even consider visiting Indianapolis I remembered that I'd been there 20 years ago and that I'd forgotten about it.

I went to college near Indianapolis, easily the most forgettable 'big' city I've ever been to. It's not bad per se, just unremarkable.

The state as a whole perfectly encapsulates why people think Americans are dumb and ignorant. Fat and religious people abound, zero interesting things going on.

Strikes me as the type of place that you could have a good time in if you are there for another reason, like a sports event, conference, visit a friend, whatever.

The list of 6 is pretty lol. One of the entries is Food and Drink. Another one is Steak. Literally couldn't come up with 6 things.

Indy has some great restaurants in the city. They have a fairly new outdoor concert area downtown as well. The Broad Ripple area is pretty cool to the NE of downtown. There are some really great, and affordable golf courses spread out all around the outskirts (The Fort being my personal fave). Deer Creek, er, whatever the hell its called now, as its probably changed names tons of times, is the concert venue in Noblesville that I've probably been to 15 times now, is a cool spot for large acts. Museums, Convention centers and parks are near downtown, with public transportation taking you very close to major sites downtown. Slippery Noodle and St Elmos are great places to visit for food.

I went there for the Indy 500 back in the 90s. It must be the whitest city in the world, outside of Oslo.

Not anymore. It's still whiter than other major American cities but there has been an influx of immigrants and Latinos. That's why there are so many damn good restaurants of every conceivable ethnicity. A few years ago when I went back to visit I was surprised to find a Spanish language radio station, TV station and Mexican grocery. That would have been inconceivable when I was growing up there.

The 500 rules and I go almost every year since 1984. Not this year unfortunately.

Don't worry, I'm sure the Indy 500 is still as white as ever. Only white hicks watch Nascar.

The Indy 500 isnt Nascar. Half the drivers are Europeans or Latinos or Japanese.

Nascar is an umbrella term that covers Indy 500, Formula 1, Daytona 500, etc.
