My favorite period of Vegas was in the 80's, early 90's. I miss coin slots. There was enough fun stuff to do fairly cheap, 1.50 strip steak breakfast at Golden Nugget at 2am. Fav casino was the Stardust. Vegas now is so huge it's hard to really enjoy it.

Anyone notice that the pitch of the narrator’s voice, as well as the music, seems a bit high? And notice how people, as well as the waves in the pool, move just a little faster than normal? There’s a likely reason for that. Can you figure it out?

I'm guessing it was just recorded a bit too quickly, or perhaps the recording degraded over time and sped up.

Oddly enough I came across something of my voice from 1991 which someone posted online, and when I downloaded it, I was surprised how my voice sounded different than I remembered. Then I heard everyone else's voices and realized the tape was just sped up a bit (unintentionally).

Obviously these girls were hot at the time but modern standards of hotness blow these girls out of the water. It’s hard to watch this and think anything but ‘meh’

Vegas is a much different town now. I had a Great Uncle that was a high stakes craps player in the early sixties. Before my parents got married he would bring my dad with him. He always stayed at the Sands or the Dunes and was known simply as Mr M. My dad used to say that Vegas was very classy then, in the casino all the men wore a suit and ladies were in dresses. The mob was still in control and as long as you didn’t fuck with them, they treated people incredibly well.

I also had an Aunt who was childhood friends with Mo Dalitz. She often stayed for weeks at a time at the Desert Inn as his personal guest.
