Wherever Baker Mayfield goes, Hard Knocks follows.

And other than the Patriots and Steelers, what team delivers more controversy?

So are they going to get like the reverse Hard Knocks jinx, or does this just mean they are going 0-16 again?

Watching the first episode of the season now. Fun, probably a better season than the last few. Hue Jackson's mother dying and how Hue deals with it, or doesn't deal with it, is some very human stuff. Jarvis Landry already had to give a 'stop being a bunch of pussies and practice' speech to the other players. All sorts of good stuff.

for anybody that doesn't have HBO, I found it on youtube…

that hue shit was tough to watch...losing your brother and then your mom a couple of weeks later has to be fucking really hard to deal with especially when you have no room for error in your job...I have a feeling it's gonna end badly for him...can't see a scenario that he doesn't want to kill haley during one of the games where they're getting waxed...think tomlin and ben wanted to in Pittsburgh...

baker got fucked on that RV deal...id much rather take the line/QBs out for dinner than to drop 6 figs on an RV...

The Browns failure has to do with the organization. Are they going to deep dive into management and how they interact or what kind of culture they create?

    Probably not.

The only dumb enough to draft him at #1....probably could have gotten him at 4 and gotten Barkley at 1.

I'm not into him. There is one blond guy(not Brogan) that I did find cute, but they showed him for like 2 seconds in the big conference room.

LOL, yeah I laughed at that whole scene. The 1 white guy DL selling snake oil to his black teammates.

I wonder if Josh Gordon is just playing up this anxiety issue to just skip camp and the bs with hard knocks.

I loved when Walter Jones did something similar. Seahawks franchise tagged him 3 years in a row, each year he just didn't sign until like 3 days before week 1 so he could stay at home and not go to camp.

I just assumed the Browns told Josh to stay home.

Probably not as that would be the smart thing to do.

you probably didn't miss anything, I don't remember them saying it in the show either (maybe they did?), but I heard a story on some podcast about how much filming they did for the RV, including going to get the thing, so I looked it up.

I assume it was an organizational decision not to allow Gordon near Hard Knocks. They were probably worried he is still taking marijuana incognito and a camera would catch him.

On the Ringer NFL pod Lombardi went hard at Hue Jackson for that coach meeting. He remarked that that is pretty much the opposite of what a good head coach should do to make sure him and his assistants are on the same page. He also commented on the irony a lot of the coaches he was talking down when he was lecturing them about not knowing how things were from his perspective are former failed head coaches with better records than he has had as a head coach.

That was the scene that made me think this is a team that will have to win in spite of their coaches.
