This is called the "Badwater Ultramarathon", because it starts in Badwater (Death Valley), which is the lowest point (-280 feet) in the western hemisphere.

The temperature there is in the 120s, and sometimes as high as 130.

They are running a staggering 135 miles, and are going over 3 mountain ranges.

I can't imagine how any human body can do this, but apparently people sign up for this every year.

Would love to see an entrants list and see how many of these people are over 40. That would be even more impressive.
