I saw a thread by thesparten, not long ago and he was talking about driving a REAL Taxi in NYC which I could relate too. It is true that Uber and Lyft (backed by hedge fund/Vulture Capital) are trying to pariah my little enclave career.

No ive never motorboated a woman in the Taxi. I work for the biggest company in Orlando who also has the Disney contrat, so we have a high standard to live up too, and cameras in the cars. You cant.

I think it was a cpl years ago our company went away from the blank box, for tip option. And started adding the [10%/15%/25%/Other] which us drivers dont like that standardization. Its too easy for a passenger to then tip just 10% or 15%, when if you just gave them a blank space they'd likely all tip more. Well over a year that shaving of our tips because of the standardization of the tip box adds up..

We can make a good living in Orlando because of the Tourism and Conventions, Orlandos big with the combination of Disney/Universal/Sea World/Conventions.

Or don't want to leave a trail. If I was in another city for business or whatever and wanted to go to a strip club I would take a taxi and pay cash over Uber any day.

Seems to me the taxi business is not sustainable

The last time I flew into Boston there was a line of uber and lyfts picking people up nonstopand then a row of about 100 taxis with 0 people in line

Yes there is trust when driving women home from the club but there is no protection percentage.
