Two Venetian employees shot, 1 dead, at company picnic by co-worker

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/...egas-park/amp/

Anthony Wrobel, 42, was a Venetian employee. He showed up to a company picnic and shot a man and woman while they sat at a table.

The woman died, while the man is in critical condition.

Inside sources tell me that Wrobel was a dealer at one of the pit games. It's unclear why he shot these two people, other than the fact that they were specifically targeted.

One of the two victims was an executive at the Venetian (not sure which one).

This reminds me somewhat of the stabbing at Bellagio which occurred involving workers there in 2012.

Wrobel is still on the loose.

Businesses that make money by collecting & selling detailed records of private lives were once plainly described as "surveillance companies." Their rebranding as "social media" is the most successful deception since the Department of War became the Department of Defense.

Perhaps the girl was his ex and the guy is her new bf but also a boss?

Whatever the reason he lost his shit this guy is so fucked and the odds he ends his own life before being captured are obv high.

New info coming in to me:

The lady who was killed was VP of Gaming, and had been at the Venetian since it opened 19 years ago. She started as a blackjack dealer and worked her way up.

The man who was shot was Table Games Director, and had initially started as a Boxman at Venetian.

The shooter was fired a few weeks ago, for unknown reasons.

I am guessing the two people he shot were the ones he blamed for his firing.

Looks like the shooter was a poker player.

He has some small cashes at WSOP events, including last year:

It would be interesting to know what he was fired for because perhaps it was so bad where no other casino would consider hiring him because of it.

He should have just let it go like T7 on a 753 board but he got coolered.

Guess it didn't fit the narrative of the MSM so it never made the national news.. Yet the situation at Youtube was plastered everywhere 2 weeks ago..

So the guy is 42 and will spend the next 40+ years in prison. I wonder if these guys ever take into account just how brutal it is to going to be locked up 23 hours a day, even in a day room, with 1 hour outside. I am somewhat claustrophobic which is why I need a few drinks before hopping on a plane. I simply could not fathom being locked up 23 hours a day with one hour of sunlight.

Plus, also if you are a loner like this guy is, you are almost certain to be facing multiple gang rapes unless he becomes a Nazi upon entering. You gotta think he is probably wondering if he should have simply got another job rather than going the gun at a picnic route.

Agreed. How is death not a better option?

Whoever said that rage-driven revenge is rational? Plus, put a loaded gun within reach of someone experiencing such rage and stupid shit will likely happen.

He won't be a 23/1 Maximum Security inmate unless he's either hyper violent, an escape risk or in protective custody. He'll be out of his cell for a large part of the day, hold a 'job' and probably will even have a TV in his cell. A lot of inmates also get an appreciable amount of outside/daylight time per day, usually around 2-3 hours total. Given the circumstances, a lot of times it's really not too bad of an existence aside from the obvious lack of freedom, good food, consensual sex, etc. Well, maybe not. Can't speak to the gang rape part, because it was literally non-existent in the state I served my sentence. Gangs and such are probably more prevalent now than they were in the late 80's to early 90's as well.

Either way this guy strikes me as more of a suicide/suicide by cop type. To choose to murder someone rather than let an issue go makes you mentally unhinged. Clearly logical thought is not at play.

Nevada has a death penalty, and I'm guessing they will seek it against this guy if they take him alive.
