Suspected live poker cheating

Guys no idea if this is the right place for this but it’s worth a shot. Sketchy player older guy who seems to be winning an obscene amount of money playing an extremely weird style. The first time I played with him my instinct told me that something isn’t right.....I may sound stupid saying it but all I can base it off is his looks, the way he plays, his mannerisms, and abnormal amount of electronics. I play at talking stick casino and we play a 3-5 no limit game.....the first thing that through me off was his sunglasses....absurdly large and he wears regular glasses underneath them....second observation is the fact that he sits with what appears to be a cell phone that is always far off to the right of him in which he leaves weird phone applications running without ever actually touching the phone. When he’s facing a decision he seems to look at the cards, the dealer the muck ect.....I’ll post pictures of the player and the app he’s been running now. If anyone has any input on live cheating or what this guy could be doing please let me know. I have been playing live for 13 years and this is first time at a casino that I have ever had this suspicion.

He won’t speak to me. I know he does speak English though. He has another app that’s very odd that I didn’t get a picture of. He plays very odd also. He plays a style as if he knows what habd is going to win before the cards are dealt.

Where I am from there was an underground/home game that had a guy cheating using a device that I'll describe. I only heard of this third hand and didn't play in these games.

So a well known donkey would buyin for an obscene amount of cash (for the game). He would take like the 5th seat, right in front of the dealer. He would have a huge amount of chips. He would place this weird cellphone on top of the chips. The "cellphone" can read barcodes off the side of the cards. It could really read the cards being dealt. This required collusion from the dealer/house and a player. Apparently the thing would tell the person when they would win at showdown via a headset.

So basically the guy wore a earpiece under headphones. Some people knew something was off and quit early on. (Wise)

Although I did not see this, it was a very well known thing that this happened. It seems far fetched that the device could read the cards before they were dealt, but I suppose the barcodes are visible on the edge of the card using infrared or whatever. So a flop/turn/river could be seen before they came out.

I've talked about it before on here, but I am surprised such a device would be used in a casino. It would require the introduction of a prepared deck to the game. The only reason I believe this is because of the weird sketchy phone. This is what gave away this cheat too. "Hey, company XXX doesn't make cellphones? WTF is this?" Something like that. Maybe someone pulled off his Beats headphone to see the little earpiece under it.

If the phone is like always aimed at the dealer's deck then LOL you're probably being cheated somehow.

Please keep us informed and if you can't discuss it publicly send me a private message as I'm very curious about this.

What you need to do is figure out how you can make the barcode visible to the naked eye.

It might also be some variation on the above and not read the full deck. Perhaps it is a new iteration that allows the marking of cards, so it only tells him a subset of all the info. As far as how the deck is being marked/introduced into the game, your guess is as good as mine. It might be that he has a certain dealer as a confederate, but that would be hard to do. Everything here points to you being cheated in a manner similar to what I have described, I'm just not sure how the marked deck is getting in the game at a casino.

Definitely ask for a setup and see what happens.

Already did and they said there’s nothing they can do about it. This poker hand analyzer thing seems to be what he would be using however it just doesn’t make sense because you would need to introduce new decks to the game. Has me stumped

It is hard to catch the guy. If he is dumb he'd do stuff like play J3o to a raise and stack people. If he is smart he'll never play that bad.

If you were able to watch him play for a long time, you could see if he ever has losing aces or things of that nature. That is probably the only real way to catch him by observing his play. Just hard to begin to watch enough hands in a live game.

Honestly though, if he is always like in seat 5 and aims the damn phone at the dealer, then something is up. If the floor doesn't do shit, then I'd think someone is being greased or they're incredibly inept men. (especially for such a large cardroom)

This is the part i was curious about. If he's winning in God mode, I assume he isn't stacking people with garbage, unless the casino is full of randoms who aren't regs. He's not getting action with regs after a few shown hands of crazy play with wires sticking out everywhere.

We don’t get to see the guys hands that often, almost never goes to showdown.....he will lead a flop 4 ways and the board texture will be something like an obvious flush just came in and he just keeps firing away and they end up folding. When his hands get shown he tends to have some weird stuff....he plays very tight though and then just decided to go crazy in certain spots....it’s always possible he’s a 60 year old prodigy lol. If I had to bet 10k tomorrow I would say he’s doing something though for sure.

If he goes crazy with shit cards that end up winning then yea hes probably cheating lol. I can't believe the phone situation isn't rectified. Floor could just tell him to not put the phone on the rail but that he can use it in his hand. If the floor can't do that, then they shouldn't have that job or they're being greased.

Are you sure? It has some lines that are acronyms for common device but the longer names seem to be unique. So strange. You'd think a fake phone would have a better camoflag (sp? LOL).

If it was me and because I'm a dick, I'd get my phone filming.. walk up behind him, grab the phone and film it, then flip through the screens to see what the other screens say. It has those 5 dots at the bottom which implies there are a few screens one could flip through. He calls floor but like .. dunno.. what are they going to do ?
