Wilson sucks fucking balls
2 really good games so far druff
Was too busy trying to make a final table in the $1500 NL to watch, other than checking out the updates.
Otherwise would have watched. Yes, both very close.
Good chance Dodgers and Cubs meet in the NLCS again, because the other NL teams are trash this year. Dodgers should win the West and Cubs should take the Central again.
When does interleague play start again so the Dodgers can get some real competition? All this running through NL teams is getting boring.
Another series, another (probable) sweep.
Lol Dodgers
The All Star game approaches.
I guess KempDoes every team have to be represented?
Yes, and it is the job of the Commissioner's Office to ensure this stipulation is accounted for with those selections.
Personally, I’d send them all home for a chance to reflect on how awful they are but the rules are the rules
... this just cracks me up.
Send it in now
Cubs vs Astros
Or
Cubs vs Red Sox
I'm awful proud of my Phillies over 76.5 wins bets but the real max bet should have been KC unders. Good god this team sucks.
I happen to know the sportsbooks in Vegas have television so I really can’t explain your Red Sox pick, especially today.
Yankees came back from 5-0 against the Mariners to win. The Mariners are a pretty good team. Stanton walk off, of course.
Yankees are like 5-2 vs Astros this year.
The Red Sox are the same team as last year plus JD Martinez & Uber Betts. There is nothing else happening offensively. I will grant they pulled their head out of their sabremetric ass when it came to seeing too many pitches like it was 2004. They HAVE switched to a more aggressive (mgr Cora was an Astro) approach and the Sawks players (Xander) are relieved.
The critical difference is that Cashman is not done. He has young trade chips galore. He is so deep he has genuine problems when guys come off the DL. Who do you send down?
Conversely, the Sawks have no chips. Unlike the idiot Sawks (Hanley Ramirez & Sandoval etc etc) the Yankees have salary cap room.
Sawks are now 2 games down, lost last 4 of 5, and the power outage is becoming more visible.
Random musings:
Speaking of power outage... Bryce Harper. I remember the stories about Bryce Harper getting an eye exam in 2011 and the doctor could not believe he was ever able to hit a baseball. He was blind as a bat. Gets fitted with modern contacts.
My experience is that guys who are superior hitters have superior vision. Remarkably, the Red Sox were one of the first teams to do regular eye exams to match the regular physicals pre season.
When the Sawks started they tested a player named Manny Ramirez. Manny’s vision stunned the doctor. The doctor set about creating crazy tests to get a grip on just how incredible his vision and hand-eye was. The articles I read and the description of these tests amused me big time.
Your eyesight never gets better Bryce. Contacts do not make you equal. I always wonder about that guy’s vision.
Will Mookie Betts score a bigger contract? Harper is prolly costing himself tens of millions.
So you may not be wrong Cubs vs Nats.
Mookie Betts career year vs Bryce Harper lifetime achievement
I wouldn’t dismiss Betts. I followed Harper. I got the Sports Illustrated issue with 16 year old Harper on the cover. I get it.
Betts has had a similar early pedigree giving credence to his performance. Betts’ success now is not a surprise and is consistent with his body of work since he was a tyke.
Couple of informal examples drawn from memory:
Betts was challenging a consecutive game hit streak set by Kevin Millar & Kevin Youkilis (Greek God of Walks). What was remarkable was that the streak started in High A and it continued as he moved up to finally AA. Most guys have to struggle against better pitchers and have an adjustment period. Not Betts. I think it was 70 games and I can’t remember if he broke the record.
Betts also had a streak of 123 plate appearances without a strikeout. Imagine that in this day and age. Crazy shit.
The Mookie Betts comparison is not vs Harper but Trout. Betts compares but Trout is god.
I just remembered Youkilis in telling the batting steak story. I remember he was another Vision freak. Human limit is said to be 20-8 and Youk was 20-10.
Looked it up and found this article.
Baseball Vision: When 20-20 eyesight just wont cut it.

My daily (Daly) ramble
You seem like an earnest man and I’m comfortable letting this nonsense slide.
We’ve solidly established Dodgers fans really don’t give a fuck. It is unlikely anyone but Kemp will be voted in.
Let’s dial back the wayback machine, Sherman. The year is 2017
The Dodger fans ... strike that. LA residents would not be bothered to thank Turner with their vote. Just what exactly would he have to do to impress these heathens?I'll say it loud and clear again," Jansen said. "It's the Dodger fans' fault. We should've voted for [Seager and Turner]. They deserve to be the starters."
It took a Final Vote for the 32nd spot to squeak him in. Thanks LA.
Yeah, arguing about the merit of Stripling or Jansen is academic.
Ichiro, who isn't allowed to be in the dugout during MLB games under Major League rules, did this:
Dodgers Cubs
ESPN announcer, “Paredes has been a revelation for the Dodgers”.
Never heard of him. Damn, something good for Dodgers? This is not good news.
Lol, Parades “The Revelation” immediately walks Heyward to load bases. Yeah, that Jason Heyward.
Then he dishes a meatball to Javier Baez. GRAND SLAM. 7-2 6th in
Yeah, another Dodgers pitching phenom. Fake news ESPN
I must be honest, my patience with the Cubs has been sorely tested. Nice save. I was ready to get behind the Braves and turn my back on them.
Order has been restored

This AL Central is glorious. Indians mucking around 9 games over and 8.5 clear. They could play .500 here out and no one is catching them. Just one horrible division.
