Credit for No Maid Service at Harrah’s Vegas

I went to Vegas mid-week for a little r and r. Stayed at Harrah’s. Upon check in, I was offered an $20 hotel credit if I declined maid service. If I was only staying 2 nights I would have gone for it. Don’t know if Caesar’s is going to institute this all over town, but I like the idea. Just giving everyone a heads up.

Most hotels now offer points in exchange for no maid service. I guess in Vegas hotels up the ante since people are losing money, although when I leave Vegas I mean $20? Either way, its a freebie.

I generally never let housekeeping in my room if I am there a couple days, the whole maid toothbrush/picture in the ass thing. If I am there for multiple days I either hide my toothbrush or just go through a couple and toss them after usage.

    Amazing troll thread.

If you aren't trolling and this really is true it would be hilarious if the housekeeping staff is quitting in droves due to not wanting to deal with the stress of entering occupied rooms to do their inspections.

Yes, this is a new policy which started late last year.

It's not just at Harrah's. It's at every Caesars property in Vegas, and many in other markets, as well.

In Vegas, you get $10 food credit per night you opt out of maid service, EXCEPT the first night. So 1-night stays get nothing, but anything beyond that will earn $10/night starting from the second night.

You need to tell them at check-in. They're supposed to inform you of this and give you the option, but often they forget.

I actually had a forgetful front desk employee check me in during the New Years weekend, and I was irritated near the end of my stay that I had Do-Not-Disturbed the room for all but one night, yet wasn't going to get that credit.

I went down to the front desk, and they gave me $20 credit manually (for the 2 nights I didn't have maid service).

You ARE entitled to get replacement towels, soap, shampoo, tissues. etc, and still get the $10/night credit. You just can't have actual maid service in your room.

This is great for people like me who rarely want the maid in the room anyway.
