Davey Boy's son Davey Boy Smith jr has a warrant out for his arrest in New Orleans for assaulting Jake "the snake" Roberts. Apparently Roberts talked shit about Davey Boy senior and Jr confronted him about it.
Roberts is a bitter shit talking junky. He likely deserved it.

I agree with Cornette. I always believed Davey Boy was a great worker when he cares, I thought I was the only one with that opinion. One of my favorite rhetorical questions is "how big of a star would have davey become if he wasn't a drug guy?" I don't think he would've become one of the top wrestlers of all time or anything, but I think he would've been a main event guy for many years.
Bret Hart tels a famous story about how before their Summerslam 92 main event in England Davey disappeared for weeks leading up to the event. Bret said at Davey showed up to the dress rehearsal the night before the show freaking out to bret saying hes been smoking crack with the Anvil for weeks, and hes paranoid and not sure he can do the match. Bret says he told him "don't worry about it. I'll call the match in the ring and everything will be fine.".....Anyway Bret says when they got in the ring Davey Boy completely blanked out and forgot everything and Bret told him everything to do the whole match. The matched ended up being a great 4.25 star match.
i'm wonder if this story is true, or if Bret is just full of shit. I rewatched the match and in the prematch interview Davey looks perfectly fine. Doesn''t look strung out or paranoid or anything. Looks like his usualy confident self. Then you have the match. The match was a classic. It takes 2 to have a great match. I have a hard time believing Davey Boy could have a great match in that condition, even with Bret. Prichard said he never heard about davey boy going on a crack binge in england or being high on crack during the match until bret came out with it in his book mayn years later. Knowing Bret, I think I beleive hes full of shit and claiming all of this to add to his legacy, saying that incredible match was 100% him. He cares that much about his legacy that I could see him doing that. Easy to bury a dead man, dead guys can't defend themselves.
