So they're back to paying less than $20k for the mincash, which kinda sucks.

LOL @ 666 spots paying.

Hypothetical, but one that often went through my head when playing big online tournaments back when.

Say after the first flight is completed, and you're in something like 160-200th place in chips, what is the minimum payout you would take to give up your chance to win? Would you lock down a $30- $40k profit given how quickly it could change?

This number would be different for everyone based on skill and finances, but I'm just wondering what it would be for you to just cash out given the hypothetical that you were allowed to do this, like back in the day when a shitty tournament would freeze and they'd pay out according to what place people were in when it crashed.

What could somebody buy you out of the tournament for?
Jamie Gold-like prolonged heaters are pretty uncommon, typically guys who go on to win major tourneys run hot and cold and survive mistakes (often by getting lucky) that otherwise should have sank them.

In short, you NEVER really know what can happen until you're bust or you've won, so logically if you still have a shot to win, you take your shot. Otherwise you aren't really gambling and quite frankly, why play poker in the first place? Lots of money in the world to be made, and tons of ways to make it. A deep run in a big tourney is a dream and quite frankly, you couldn't take my chips for anything less than the 1st place payout (speaking in hypotheticals here) or some kind of mathematical chop at the final table.

Curious if anyone feels differently?
