Go ahead and disturb: Caesars to soon stop honoring Do Not Disturb Signs

    https://apnews.com/4be2d8120e9944fbb...9;-rooms-daily

Cliffs: Caesars Properties will be entering each room once per day, even if there's a Do Not Disturb sign.

    I hate, hate, hate this.

Usually I would check into the property, hang a DnD sign, and not remove it until I was ready to leave. I would refresh the towels, soap, and shampoo myself by going to the maid's cart.

Now these assholes are going to enter every day, whether I like it or not.

    Thanks, Steven Paddock.

Brittney Griner's Clit: Ha. I got this one right. And since you have that Paddock status you will probably get checked up on multiple times per day.

The weird thing to me is how SECURITY will be tasked with inspecting the rooms daily, NOT the maids.

Originally it was going to be the maids, but their union (I had no idea maids were unionized) balked, and CET backed down, tasking security to do so instead.

So how is this going to work?

Is security going to knock on every door which has a DnD sign for 24 hours, and then forcefully enter if nobody answers?

Because that's what it sounds like.

This is going to be a huge pain in the ass. I'll give you an example:

Say I'm at the Rio for the World Series of Poker on June 5.

    At 11am, I have a tournament there.

Overnight, obviously I have the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.

At 7am, the maid observes that the DnD is on there, and notes it.

So I wake up at 10:15am or so, get ready, put the DnD sign on my door (because I don't like people entering when I am not there), and play the tournament.

Let's say I do well and make Day 2 of the tournament -- so I get back at about 12am.

Day 2 of the tournament starts at 2pm the next day. So I go to bed maybe about 2am.

At 7am, the maid sees the DnD still on the door (because I'm sleeping) and calls security.

Security pounds on my door at 7am, wakes me up, and demands to inspect the room.

    WTF

Is this seriously what's going to happen? Because that would be awful.

I'm sure it's not just Ceasers, but virtually all major casinos adopting this policy. I doubt the security checks would occur before 10am, since lots of people sleep in after a late nite in a casino.

you could inform the front desk that your sleeping in, but I doubt they would give a shit let alone pass that on to security who would want to enter at random times.

What about rooms with adjoining doors? I could move the grenade launcher between rooms as the inspections take place.

It's going to be interesting at the Rio this year.

Previously, I was able to talk them into giving me an exception to their obnoxious policy to enter the room every 3 days.

Obviously that won't be happening for me this year.

However, I find it unacceptable that they will be barging into my room while I'm down playing tournaments. Fuck that.

I'm going to have to see what I can arrange as far as having them come into my room at scheduled times, or when I call them to do so, or whatever.

Such a pain in the ass. And these knee-jerk security measures are useless, because you can easily lug plenty of guns/bombs/whatever into the room in a period of 24 hours, especially at Rio where nobody seems to give a shit about anything.

Please God invest in some water skis and water ski cases to put them in. I think it would be totally fair to include the price of all of this in your package as long as investors got a taste of the payoff from the lawsuit when you get swatted.

They are even available in that traditional water skier orange!

Obv include water skiing literature and map of Lake Mead in the room. Maybe even consider this as your phone case.

This is a so much better idea than my idea last year to take a bunch of steamy baths in an attempt to acquire Legionnaires disease.

I think Disney was first or near the first to change the DnD sign policy after the Vegas shooting, It's a new world folks, its not the only change coming

I had noticed in my recent Harrah's stays that they weren't coming into my room, despite my DnD sign being on the door for over 72 hours.

That's because the Culinary Union (which includes housekeepers) is currently doing battle with Caesars regarding the requirements for their cooperation in this.

    Here's the latest update: https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/201...om-checks.html

Basically, the housekeepers want security to open the room AND to remain there for as long as they deem necessary for employee safety. They want that written into their new contract.

Caesars refused, and told them to eat shit. It is unclear what Caesars doesn't like about that term, but I'm guessing it's the part about security remaining in or outside the room, as it probably creates a liability for Caesars if security leaves and then someone in the room (or returning to the room) assaults the maid.

So while this is in flux, I think we get a break from this obnoxious policy.

So if I'm in bed with my wife messing around or taking a long relaxing shit, they can demand to come in?

What if u have the door latch on so that the door can't be opened so that they can't come in? What if you don't answer?
