had they checked into that youtube thing where he used his actual name and identified himself as a professional school shooter, i have to think law enforcement could have had him committed or something, combined with his countless altercations with law enforcement.
but to be honest, i don't even know what it takes to get someone committed or have their guns taken so you may be right
If they could commit people for what they write on the internet, we would need a prison and an institution just for this 3rd tier poker site.
pretty fucking coge point from Dallas TX about how if the shooter was a muslim kid or a mexican kid, there would be an absolute avalanche of legal measures taken to keep this from happening again.

Lol @ 3rd tier
Can you articulate what some of these measures could be? There seems to be a lot of talk about how the government needs to do something, but not a lot of articulation of what those measures might be.
Do you agree with Hongkonger that police should be going door to door doing armed stand offs to confiscate guns? Do you have any better ideas?
I do notice that there simultaneously seems to be a fear government is trying to get too much power over our lives and personal freedom, but at the same time they aren't doing enough. I am not sure there is a way to reconcile the contradiction. I don't think anyone else really knows how to either. That is why we get a lot of grandiose statements like the one above that are real short on details.

this is just unbelievable
"The person who called the [FBI public access] line reported Cruz’s ownership of a gun, his erratic behavior, disturbing social media posts, and the potentiality of him conducting a school shooting, according to a statement released by the FBI."
he used his real name on youtube, in which he commented that he is a professional school shooter. this was reported to the FBI who did absolutely nothing
"If protocol was observed, the information provided by the caller would have been considered a potential threat to life and forwarded to the FBI Miami field office. This was not done for reasons currently unknown."

this is the most inept policing i have ever heard of
You must not spend much time seeing what the American MSM is focusing on (I don't blame you). Yesterday they spent at least as much time focusing on his supposed alt-right ties than gun control issues. Unfortunately, the media is consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome, so they have to politicize every story and spin it as a referendum on his presidency.
Of course Trump equally has mental issues, so he also tries to politicize everything and spin it to make himself look better.
