Tsunami possible (but not imminent) in Washington, BC, and Alaska.
Tsunami not likely but has an outside chance of hitting Oregon, California, and Hawaii.
Earthquake upgraded to 8.2.
The quake was in the ocean. Kodiak is on an island, south of Anchorage. As it was only 175 miles from Kodiak, it is likely it was felt very strongly there, but it's unclear if there are any injuries or deaths.
An 8.2 earthquake is about 20 times as powerful as a 7.0, which is already a very large earthquake itself.

USGS has downgraded to 5.9 and 2 after quakes recorded.
