Seriously? When did that start? When I went to school they didn't even shut down for Columbus day. There was just always no mail or banking. I think the people I grew up with would be a lot less racist if they got to get out of school for a day because of Martin Luther King Jr.


Edit:

This new way is a lot smarter though. Because before not only did you have to go to school but you had to do extra work reading black people books all day. And to reinforce the racism even farther, kids viewed snow (which is white) as the best thing ever. Because enough white and there was no school.
