A few hours after the gates swing open at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the cars are still pouring into the massive 10,241-space parking garage.

The cash pours in too: Each vehicle pays $20 to park at the Mickey & Friends facility, $35 for a preferred space close to the escalators and elevators.

Even if the parking garage fills just half its spaces, it would still generate more than $35 million in annual revenue and easily hundreds of millions of dollars over the life of the structure.

That money all goes to Walt Disney Co. The city of Anaheim, which owns the garage and spent $108.2 million to build it, charges the company just $1 a year for the lease.

The city of Anaheim has SOLD OUT to big corporations and decided to fuck the citizens and ignore the poor and homeless.

It's part of a Union that bails out banks but not citizens, cuts spending on healthcare and cuts taxes for the wealthiest.

Have lived in the OC basically my whole life. Has very little to do with the Sheriff or Disney, other than I suppose the Sheriff could have stopped the tent city from forming a long time ago by simply shutting it down.

The tent city used to be on public property in Santa Ana near the Courthouse and the County Recorder's Office. About 2 or 3 years ago they started construction in that area, forcing the homeless to move to a new location. You could see that tent city forming over the years if you drive on the 57 FWY.

This is a small section of Orange County only and (downtown) LA is still by far much worse. I would not necessarily blame the current Sheriff or Disney for the lack of low income housing in Orange County or the open border policy of many throughout California.

There are 20 places like this in So Cal. The homeless population has gone up something crazy like 40% in the last 2 years, but Mayor Garcetti is supposedly thinking of running for President because I guess he feels he is doing such a good job here.

Anyways, from what I understand it is a combination of mental illness, drug abuse, no affordable housing, and the local government at the city/county/state levels are just humongous money wasting bureaucracies that spend a lot of $$ and don't do anything.

And of course the biggest reasons is that things are completely rigged right now where the top 1% hoard all the wealth and nothing is trickling down to the poor masses.
