Reality TV is all bullshit. We all know that. I once had a friend on PFA Radio who was basically a professional reality show bullshitter.
But once again, it touched the world of poker.
John Racener, fresh off of trying (and failing) to scam drunk gambling addict Marc Klang in a home blackjack game, appeared on TV recently on Gary Sheffield's new real estate show.
Apparently Gary's wife, DeLeon, is a high-end real estate agent, and runs an agency with her mother. This reality show follows the Sheffields (including Gary) as they attempt to sell huge, luxury homes around south Florida.
They had poker pro John Racener -- best known for finishing 2nd in the 2010 WSOP Main Event for $5.5 Million -- trying to look for a new home.
People laughed at the description of John's supposed "party lifestyle" in the cable listings guide:

Anyway, apparently John bought this house in 2011, shortly after his big 2010 Main Event score, and the entire episode was bullshit.
He admitted to Pokernews that the production team made him take down all personal items, making it appear as if he didn't yet own the home: https://www.pokernews.com/news/2017/...show-29535.htm
Is there anything about this guy that is genuine?
Amazingly, despite the revelation that his entire appearance on the show was completely staged, he said it was a "good experience" and that he doesn't regret it one bit.
You can watch the episode here, but you have to do an obnoxious login "through your cable provider", so you probably don't want to bother.
