You could also take your pick of whichever broken down starter returning to the friendly confines in San Diego. Either young broken down Tyson Ross, or old and broken down Chris Young. Perhaps 1 will stay healthy and have a decent year...more upside with Ross of course.

Is that the Neil Walker you think is going to hit .300 with 25-30 homers or the actual Neil Walker that is going to bat .250 with
    15 hrs ( if hes lucky ) ?

if he's the full time 2nd base and healthy this could be a career year w/ this yankee stadium porch.....250 and 15 ding dongs is a conservative #..and if he's hurt he's be around that.

this is a huge coup for the yanks

Yeah, this Turner injury sucks for a few reasons.

Not only will the Dodgers have to do without him for all of April and possibly all of May, but he also has a history of sucking for awhile right after returning from injury.

That's why he sucked in the World Series after killing it in all recent postseasons (including 2017). He was playing hurt.

So it's not even like we'll get Turner back on May 20 and he will start destroying the ball again. There's a good chance he'll return and hit .255 with little power for awhile.

This also now puts more pressure on Bellinger to produce and not go through a sophomore slump. The combination of Taylor/Seager/Turner/Bellinger was a big reason the Dodgers were so unstoppable in the middle of last season.

The other problem is that they don't really have a good replacement solution. It looks like they'll probably have to go with moving Forsythe to 3B, and Taylor to 2B. Hopefully they won't attempt to play Utley much, who honestly should have called it quits at the end of 2017. Kike Hernandez may also see some time at 3B, if he manages to hit okay.

The big winners in this, at least for now, are Matt Kemp, Joc Pederson, and Andrew Toles. With Taylor moved from CF to 2B, that opens up another spot in the outfield. So now 2 of these 3 guys will often start, whereas before it was likely to just be one of them. It seems like they are afraid to platoon Kemp because it will fuck with his head and cause issues, so I think they're going to go with him full time provided he's hitting, and then maybe mix in Pederson and Toles at CF.

    So lineup is looking like:

    C Grandal
    1B Bellinger
    2B Taylor
    SS Seager
    3B Forsythe
    LF Kemp
    CF Pederson/Toles
    RF Puig

Still a good starting 8, but not nearly as good as when Turner was there.

Fortunately there isn't a super-strong team in the NL West to really compete with them, so they may be able to absorb Turner's absence and still win the division with a decent margin.
