Blockchain.info users -- you probably have "bitcoin cash"

This is a moonlanding, but just in case you forgot or didn't know....

On August 1, 2017, there was a hard fork of bitcoin, creating bitcoin cash.

However many bitcoin you had at the time, you have the equivalent number of bitcoin cash.

Right now bitcoin cash is worth about $1300 each, so it's not chump change.

To see what you have, go to Settings -> General -> and click Show Bitcoin Cash Balance.

    Yeah it's missing for you.

If you had no BTC on August 1, you don't have any.

You can recover Bitcoin Cash from any wallet except those that were stored on certain exchanges. If you want to know if you own any Bitcoin Cash, go here:

    https://www.blockdozer.com

And punch in ALL your Bitcoin public receive addresses. It will tell you your Bitcoin Cash balance. If you don't want to do that, you can use an app like coinomi and import your private keys by entering your 12 or 24 word backup and it will sweep all the Bitcoin Cash that you are owed, if any, into the wallet.

How about Bitcoin Gold? I had a balance on Blockchain.info at the latest fork. Maybe sometime down the road they will let people claim the Gold.

But for now, any idea how I can get it from there?

ok thanks for the tip. I have $5 bitcoin cash. It is too small an amount to convert to BTC... anything easy I can do with it? Ill try and donate it to a free roll if you send me bitcoin cash address to send it to Druff.

and I wasn't joking about contacting micon he had this on twitter the other day

I will dig out your Bitcoin Gold for you. Many helped today and yesterday.

And he's helping people get bitcoin diamond too. Which really if Druff was up to date he would have mentioned Bitcoin Cash, Gold and Diamond.

Perhaps you can get your private key from blockchain.info, (or the one that was in use at the time of the fork) and use that.

BitcoinGold is still $300 a coin. BitcoinCash might stick around as there is unlikely to be a BTC fork with as much legitimacy, I sold all the bitcoingold as I don't think there is any way it will ever rise longterm. $400 a BTC coin... sell em now while there is still a market.

Then there is BitcoinDiamond, which funnily doesn't have an actual wallet, but futures have it at about 1/2 the price of bitcoincash.

    When was bitcoin diamond created?

I am not sure Blockchain.info gives you access to your private keys anymore as well but I could be wrong

I think from now on any bitcoin related coins I receive I am just going to hold as insurance/value.

I don't know. BitcoinDiamond was announed but no wallet created. SOmewhere there is a futures market which has the price @ about $600 in bitcoinDIamond per BTC. When a wallet will be released etc, I have no idea, but I'd sell ASAP.

We're starting to see the altcoin fork BS we saw a few years ago, but with BTC. I feel confident selling all forks besides bitcoin cash. They'll never get any traction.

I already said this was a moonlanding, so I don't know why people are giving me a hard time here.

Many novice BTC users don't even know about BCH, or they forgot it existed.

I'm telling them that there's an easy way to access any BCH they have if they are using the blockchain.info wallet.
