I no longer enjoy drinking.
Have you considered Naltrexone or Campral? I know a lot of guys that have quit with medication in combination with counseling. They use 12 step programs for maintenance.

The reason everyone fails is because they don't go to AA. If you go to AA frequently, you will stay off the sauce. Problem is you get to be part of a cult. You have to do that weird ass Serenity prayer and hold hands (usually with other men) and chant the prayer. It's always the same thing in the meetings, listening to some burnouts talk about their problems. I have not been in over 5 years, but I'd get up their and speak today and show my bank account from 2008 to 2017 and tell people what smart and hard work gets you (along with Full Tilt and Party being banned online). You know, try and motivate people rather than talk about some fight I got into 10 years ago because I was wasted.
Your best bet is to transition to wine. Stay away from beer and hard liquor. Beer you can drink all day long, and hard liquor is flat out dangerous, as you can go through 2/3rds of a 1/5th and feel fine, next thing you know its the next morning trying to recreate the night, especially dangerous if a casino with within a Uber drive. A bottle of wine in the evening you can nurse and fall asleep with no issues, no hangover the next morning. Plus you can enjoy yourself when you go out for a steak and Italian food having two or three glasses of wine.
