It wouldn't necessarily have to be an advantage in that person per se. But having the "pederasty" gene in the gene pool for the population could be an advantage. This phenomenon is actually pretty common. The classic examples are sickle cell and thalesemia. If you have full blown sickle cell disease or thalesemia that is obviously very bad, but being heterozygous for the genes that cause these diseases allow for malaria resistance, so having these genes in the gene pool was historically advantageous in populations with high malaria incidence.What possible selective advantage is there to engaging in same sex relations? I think (and a lot of scientists agree) the fact that such a high percentage of people across all cultures are preferentially homosexual indicates there must be some selective advantage at the population level towards having genes that allow for this.
I have a hard time buying your pederasty gene statement. Some things in life are choices, learned behaviour, kinks, hormone queues etc. Not all desires and actions are explained by genes. There is even some science behind Alex Jones' famous turning the frogs gay statement. Polluted drinking water can fuck up a community.
It is just a speculation. I would guess there really was a selective advantage for "homosexual genes" through evolutionary history, which is why the percentage of preferential homosexuals is remarkably consistent across cultures, and the exact manifestation of how this is portrayed has a lot to do with the environment. IE in South Beach the gays walk around and fuck in the open, in the Muslim world they completely suppress it so they don't get thrown off buildings, and in Ancient Greece pederasty was all the rage.
I will say the whole idea of what we define as child abuse being such a bad thing is a pretty new invention. Through history in pretty much every culture people were pretty brutal and mean towards children, especially poor, orphaned children, and it didn't seem to be a big deal culturally or negative towards survival at the population level. My guess is that people, especially children, are a lot more resilient than given credit for, and our current environment has made us soft in that regard.
Not to say that having such a strong stance against child abuse is bad or wrong, I am just saying it is the exception and not the rule for how human societies have operated for thousands of years.

You have probably seen the recent accusations that Charlie Sheen raped/molested Corey Haim on the set of the movie Lucas in 1985.
This is the best article I have seen about the matter thus far.
I can confirm that the Charlie Sheen/Corey Haim thing has been a persistent rumor within Hollywood for years.
In addition, if you believe that Charlie contracted HIV from women or intravenous drugs, then you also probably believe that OJ Simpson is still searching for the real killers.
Charlie Sheen is bisexual. This has also been known for a long time. Denise Richards even filed court documents at one point alleging that Sheen frequented porn websites featuring both underage-looking lesbians and underage-looking gay boys. While many so-called bisexuals in Hollywood are actually gay (Elton John even once described himself as bi), Charlie Sheen is one of the few actual bisexual males.
Even on the set of Lucas, he apparently molested Corey Haim and propositioned a 17-year-old female on the set for sex.
It's also important to note that Sheen was only 19 at the time of filming Lucas. Therefore, making moves on a 17-year-old was age-appropriate, though Charlie was likely aggressive and creepy in the way he went about it.
However, Corey Haim was only 13 at the time, so this was clearly inappropriate, and indicative of someone with pedophiliac tendencies.
Furthermore, it was an open secret for a long time that Corey Haim was gay. Charlie confided in friends that he did have sex with Haim during the production of Lucas, but insisted it was consensual. This is likely true, but a 13-year-old cannot really be said to consent with a 19-year-old. Haim did pursue Sheen to have another sexual encounter, which is unusual in this sort of situation. However, again realize that Haim was gay, so to him he was attempting to continue a sexual relationship with an older boy he admired.
I have heard around Hollywood that Corey Haim's drug problems partially stemmed from being uncomfortable with his homosexuality. Sadly some closeted homosexuals self-medicate to cope with their sexuality. It should also be understood that Haim was part of the fast Hollywood culture for most of his life, and therefore it was much easier to slip into a life of drug abuse, as well as to find yourself in social situations where heavy drug use is taking place. It is very possible he would have OD'd even if he were not gay, but that factor was believed to have at least contributed to it.
Finally, notice that this story was brought public by Dominick Brascia. It's no coincidence that Brascia is also under accusation of molesting Haim, and he brought this out in order to take the heat off himself. After all, Charlie Sheen is much more famous than he is. Brascia is correct with his story, but he also had a sexual relationship with Haim. Brascia insists that he was always a close friend with Haim, and never abused him. I don't believe that, but unfortunately we cannot verify it. I do believe that Haim did see Brascia as a friend and a positive figure in his life, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Brascia also likely had sex with Haim when he was very young.
