I think Druff has one legitimate complaint about the old days - he did bring a lot of people to NWP when he won his bracelet and had an epic WSOP. I don't think you can understate how big this was for the community. Druff's day to day contributions had less to do with the success of the site in my opinion although I am sure he did a lot to help run the site. Micon should have chipped him off some equity and made him a partner. He didn't and Druff didn't push the issue hard enough, so now here we are. Resentments galore.

I know that I mostly left the site when micon went all bed-shitter and disrespected the people who had helped contribute to the forum. Druff's troll obsession was the final nail in the coffin.

It's crazy to look back and see how much money was lost/never realized that could have been. Bitcoin, affiliate deals, etc...millions of dollars down the drain. Crazy.

A correction.

In my haste to hammer out everything last night, I made a pretty bad mathematical error. Or more accurately, I forgot to divide.

NWP was indeed making $10-20k per month most of the time post-sale.

However, Micon was making only 17.5% of that per month, as was Dustin.

So they were clearing about $1750-$3500 per month, not $10-20k (lol).

And at best I saw $500, which I correctly noted to hongkonger earlier.

Since they received it for about 2.5 years, they probably got about $75k-$100k from that total.

They also received tens of thousands worth of Pokernews stock, which they eventually sold back.

Micon also sold back his part for an lol pittance when they kicked our forum off NWP in late 2009, because he was lolbad at negotiating. (I was on a cruise ship and could only watch the trainwreck from slow motion on my satellite internet connection.) The worst part was that he was negotiating for me, too -- though obviously I had much less at stake.

And I talked with Brandon, who told me that he remembered the initial cash being $85k each, not $100k, which is probably about right, now that I think of it.

So I'd say they both cleared about $200k from the whole thing, not $300k.

Still not chump change.
