Honestly once in a lifetime lock
Hard argument to counter.
First in war, first in peace and last in the American League.
HILLARY WON
Apparently not.
I had Hendricks on my fantasy team. Even with his strong second half, he just never looked dominant. He was skating through 5-6 innings per start and not allowing runs to score, but he wasn't racking up many Ks, nor did it look like he was fooling everyone.
That's why I laughed at big dick's proclamation of, "What about Hendricks", as if he was someone the Dodgers had to fear.
Now it's looking like the Dodgers won't have to worry about him at all.
I will say that I feel the Dodgers match up better with the Nationals (at least the current, semi-banged-up variety), so I prefer to see them in the NLCS. It's only a slight preference, though. I really think the Dodgers are going to be in the World Series this year, against the underrated Astros.
What happens from there is anyone's guess.
Oh, and another reason I wanted the Nationals to win was selfish.
Tickets to the NLCS will be WAY cheaper without all of the asshole Cubs fans driving up the price on Stubhub. That's what happened last year, and hence I watched all of the games from home.
Now I'm feeling better about grabbing a reasonably priced ticket, provided this lead holds up.
Disagree.
Dodgers appear to have shaken off the fail of early September.
They will be fresh, Nationals will be tired. And then there's the weird issues with Strasburg's "sinuses" and Scherzer's nagging pain. Not to mention Bryce Harper not being 100%, plus his inexplicable poor lifetime performance against the Dodgers (look it up).
Much like the Diamondbacks before them, the Nationals will enter this series already out of sync, while the Dodgers will be fresh and rested. Plus the Dodgers have 4 of 7 at home.
Dodgers also have the better bullpen.
Washington upgraded it with Doolittle and Madson, but overall the pen still has some issues.
Now that the Dodgers have added Maeda to the pen (who has performed very well so far), that's a pretty strong group of relief pitchers who can enter whenever the starter gets lifted. This is important because it seems that the modern playoff pitching strategy is for the starter to go all out for 5-6 innings (if he can make it), and then get lifted.
And then of course there's Kenley Jansen.
Spoke too soon.
Maybe Krypt is right.
I almost bet Nats here at +102, but then I realized that we were dealing with Gio Gonzalez, whose numbers are far better than he's been pitching lately. He has looked gassed. So I just stayed off of it.
Looks like we have a game.
ull always have gilbert arenas
Agent zero what a man
Whoever wins this is going to probably burn a bunch of pitchers, just like the D-backs did against the Rockies in the wildcard game.
GL against the Dodgers and their tough/rested pitching staff, with 4 games in a pitchers park.
Dusty Baker curse continues.
There’s a reason I am who I am, please learn from me
cuz ur inferior genetics? and that mia khalifa is like the most relevant dc sports person i see it now
Possibly the greatest call in this forum’s history
Bad break for Druff & his Dodgers. Deja vu all over again.
Druff already visualizing a Dodgers World Series opponent. Vivid dreams
