Not a big fan of waking up drunk, but I LOVE waking up high from marijuana edibles. Greatest morning glow available, IMO.
Alcohol leaves your system 1 unit an hour roughly, so as long as you have more units in your system than the amount of hours you sleep then it's easy done

Yes, but I highly dislike it. It's why I don't drink heavily right before going to sleep. I'll wake up drunk, but also dehydrated and with a headache. No bueno

The chronic tension headaches I get can't be slept off.
If I go to bed with one, I wake up with either the same headache or a worse one, no matter how long I sleep.
That's all I got.
What have you found is the best thing to take? I like Excedrine, personally. Especially since my headaches are often associated to caffeine withdrawal, but I don't want to drink a coffee or whatever.

Are they of the variety which start in your neck, and then move up in a "line" to the back of your head, causing what is typically a moderate but irritating headache?
I have heard that these can be caffeine withdrawal, but in my case, that's not the cause. Mine are caused by one or more of the following:
1) Neck held in bad position while I sleep, drive, walk/hike, or do anything else which can potentially put my neck in a position to bring this on.
2) Sudden strain on neck muscles, such as if I move my head the wrong way when bending down.
3) Sudden temperature change, such as an AC or heater kicking on, or walking outdoors where it's a lot cooler or hotter than it is inside.
Due to the #3 factor, I get more of these in the summer/winter than in the fall/spring. In the summer, I get one almost every day.
I usually take Excedrin, and it knocks out about 97% of them within 20 minutes. For the other 3%, I take a Vicodin.
I was concerned that this could damage my liver (the frequent medicating), but recent blood tests show that's currently not an issue.
These are NOT migraines. I do not have nausea, and do not have sensitivity to light or sound.
Someone rubbing the back of my neck and shoulders can also improve the situation, though if they rub too hard, it makes it worse.
I inherited these from my mom. Hers showed up around age 30, while mine appeared around age 24.
I get something very similar to that, and I take Excedrine somewhat regularly.
I get full lab work every 6 weeks or so as part of a medical study I'm involved in, and the only thing that's abnormal is my Iron count is really high. Which is hereditary for me.
