This was a tough thing to get.
Ken called into "Larry King Live" in January 1990, when he was 19. President Reagan was the guest, and Ken wanted to ask him a challenging question regarding negative campaigning, but was afraid they wouldn't put such a question on with the aging former President.
Instead, Ken lied to the screener, gave them a softball question as to what he wanted to ask, and then asked the real question once he got on the air.
He managed to get Reagan to say "Well" twice during the call, which was the only time during the entire hour that Reagan uttered that trademark response.
Ken recorded it at the time, and had it on VHS tape. Later in the 1990s, someone mad at Ken took the tape and threw it out a car window, and that was that. For about 20 years, Ken has lamented losing that tape.
I could never find the episode on YouTube. They had one from a year later, but not this one.
Today I happened to be near the Reagan Library, so I went in there, got them to dig this up, and I recorded the part with Ken on my phone.
LOL "dastardly deeds"
