They are such a scumbaggy company.
The early on drivers were getting a much higher percentage of the fares. I think they took home close to 85%. Now it's more like 70-75%. Also, they were basically subsidizing fares by burning investor money and offering all these free ride credits.
Then they had a program where they would lease a car out to you, but charged $250/wk for said car, which was nothing but a mid level sedan you could finance for $250/month.
They basically just take advantage of the endless amount of low income, poor credit people out there willing to do this job that haven't figured out, after expenses and wear and tear on your vehicle, you aren't making much.
Oh, and that whole no in-app tipping thing for the longest time while their competitor Lyft had it from the start.
Fuck Uber.
