I wasnt initially sure I'd stick with, after the first episode. Diego Luna just didnt seem... right. I was wrong.
Glad I was wrong.
Anyways, the violence ramps up as the episodes go by, culminating in some gruesome to watch scenes. Ep. 8 and 9 especially. If you haven't watched, be ready.
Rafa and Neto scenes are god.
Long live narcos. Obv El Chapo is next.

mike pena is a literal god and is amazing in this show the real issue
THE REAL ISSUE PEOPLE is diego lunas suits look like they were tailored today and not 1984 and its fucking distracting
like the rest of the production design is impeccable
weird pacing, kinda drawn out.
also iirc what they did to the dea agent in real life was much, much, much more brutal.
also it felt kinda like a long commercial for the rest of the mexico seasons where everything goes full breaking bad.

I do think it’s kind of interesting that the take away at the end was the DEA declared war on Mexico.
