Here's what I've been thinking about, if your only use of bitcoin is to use it as a form of payment, and you never hold bitcoin, does the price of bitcoin matter that much?.
It seems that bitcoin is amazing if your sole purpose is to use it as a transaction method and never hold bitcoin, but if you're using bitcoin to hold on too in hopes of cashing out when the price rises then it can be volatile.
My point is i think we are looking at bitcoin in the wrong way, i don't think it was created as a means to make money, rather it was created as a innovative method to process payments at little to no cost using existing infrastructure, so even if bitcoin his rock botttom it's purpose will still be intact.
