Mixed feelings about this.
I am a big Miami Vice fan, and I absolutely loved the look and feel of the original series (though the series was far better in its first two seasons compared to its final three.)
Michael Mann made a terrible film version of it in 2006, pretty much extracting everything that was good about the 1980s series. It was basically an overlong, boring, confusing version of the classic "Smuggler's Blues" episode.
I'm afraid that a modern Miami Vice will lose the colorful aesthetics, film noir, and music video atmosphere which made the '80s series so effective and influential.
If this new Miami Vice does come to pass, I will try to watch it, but I might give up quickly if it sucks.
Some of these reboots never pan out. "The Rockford Files" was supposed to see a reboot in 2012, but that never occurred.
