Oh, the softplaying. I'm not sure what you mean then about the A9 hand, but yeah there have been some suspect checkdowns.
Then again, yesterday one of the pros just called a river bet with A-high flush on an unpaired board against one of the whales. So what was the point of softplaying them? Maybe they're just bad.
I agree 200bb preflop with those hands was ridiculous but if they have a history with one another to give lots of action back and forth like that or rebate the one who loses to some extent after the game is over then it makes sense.

I may have missed the hand you're referring to. But a hand I seen didn't involve a whale. I saw JRB flat the river with the Ac flush against Antonio's CR Kc...There was a possible straight flush out there, tho his reasoning for the JUST flat made sense to me.
