    Need help with new computer

I need a new computer and found the specs i want on Dell. I know this system is overpriced because of the Alienware/Dell name. Any ideas where i can buy a similar system for less? I dont have time to build a computer. I need a new distraction instead of drinking/gambling so i figured why not play Grand Theft Auto in the highest settings possible.

If you are not building it yourself, it's tough to find those specs. The graphics card is the perfect one to use though.

Not sure where you are at but you can easily buy all the pieces and pay a college student to build it for you... prob save yourself 1-2k.

That's just not true anymore. Margins on new PCs are quite slim.

So if I build this myself, at best I save 1k? If that is the case, may as well just order from Dell as at least there is some form of a warranty.

Technically you will have the warranty for each part you install, but dell has good customer service and tech support/repair you just call them up and they send someone to you don't need to ship it out or anything. Honestly you're the type of guy that doesn't need to worry about the 1k save of building yourself and also the worry of fucking something up. I mean 1k is 1k but ya know

A good distraction is building it yourself. And more fun.

I've never had a problem with DELL. They are fucking tanks. Take a .50 cal to one if you want (ok that's kinda exaggerating).

Alienware is obvs the top top in terms of gaming PC's (IMO). and those laptops from back in the day they used to make were fire then, and fire now.

I haven't had a desktop in years, save for the DELL tower that's in my arcade machine (it came loaded with XP, and i love XP so i kept it on there. but it really just runs the aracade machine and doesen't do much else).

It's too bad you do't have a Microcenter there like we do here. that place is fucking sick.

Also, like above, have someone else build it for you for a small fee. Why not? College kids do a lot of things, like go off into the woods to find lost drones, so theres a good chance a small craigslist ad will land you in the sights of a needy college kid looking for a few extra dollars.

LoL that's about as fun as building a remote control car.

    (not fun at all)

Truth be told if you're looking to save more than 1500ish and if you can't then are just going to buy it outright (haven't looked at all the spec pricing) then you might as well do that now. Also, just an fyi while dell give ypu the warranty on the whole PC, when buyimg the individual products you get a similar warranty (just takes more time to diagnose the issue yourself and then have them replace the product).

Also, may I suggest also trying https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ maybe you can find a builder there who can slightly tweak the specs/off brand (but good HW) and build it for you significantly cheaper. I had a guy build my sis a desktop for work with better specs than the HP she wanted to buy for $700 less (1500 to 800 allin).

Addicts and exercise have a weird connection. Runners high, I guess. Most find treadmills a bore but at marching speed and listening to music I can rack up the miles. And the effects both mentally and physically grow.

The first option, does all of the above. This animal is on go pretty much all day. It does shit but it also attracts attention from all things female.

For the money these options will offer more return on your dollar.

New hearthstone expansion dropped yesterday Cmoney. Let;ls get a game going.

But yes if you have have money and no interest in building your own computer than just go out and buy that. It's not even worth your time to look at other stuff really.

And damn must be quite the machine to be running 1500w power supply.

Thanks for all the replies. I just went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Dell. The 1-2k savings wouldnt make much difference. I basically just said fuck it and maxed out the settings. Surprised it takes a month to get here,.
