New HBO series about the rise of porn in NYC or something.
Two glaring issues right off the bat;
1) Its a period piece, and period pieces are actually super expensive to produce.
2) They seem to be focusing on how Deep Throat blew open the doors (pun etc) of the porn market, which means at some point they will almost certainly have to touch on Linda Lovelace's career, and that shit wasnt sexy. Basically her entire career + personal life were an ongoing series of coke fueled rapes, up to and including her manager / husband forcing her to fuck their german shepherd. Whether or not you choose to take her autobiography at face value or not, its still her narrative, sooooo....
Either they dont go there, or they whitewash it, or they accurately describe it; I dont see any of those scenarios going over well.
Literally could be another Vinyl superflop implosion, people just arent going to be like "OH MAN SUNDAY NIGHT FINALLY I GET TO SEE A STARK GRITTY PORTRAYAL OF 70'S NYC DRUG ABUSE AND RACIAL POLITICS" no matter how many tits we see flopping around.
