thought the episode was really good

except for the fact that has already been pointed out - that anyone could have shot negan and ended the war

basically they pointed out that shows like Lost/GoT/Breaking Bad had 'built in expiration dates' where by there is an arc with a conclusion and yes we might take some detours along the way but there is a singularity at the end of each.

the worst kept secret right now is that TWD is more wrestling than tv show; the producers at AMC fully expect the show to outlive us all, and instead of getting caught up with character arcs, they are just rebranding the exact same seasonal plot arcs over, and over, and over, and over again and will absolutely quite likely never break out of that loop because the show is going to stay in the green for a long time.

and sooner or later, yeah, enough people are going to finally say 'ok this is gay' and at that point, they will likely do a 2 season wind down where suddenly all the characters lose their godmode shit and end up dying from tooth infections etc.
Gave up on this show the minute Nagan showed up ~ 2-3 years ago. Absolutely zero regrets

saw the Season 8 Episode 1...yeah someone could have shot Negan, but hold off criticism of on that because the reason no shooting may be revealed later on in the season--seems like there may be a lot of backfill coming in the next few episodes and that may explain a lot

still, i liked the firearm porn...and particularly that the Taurus Judge was featured--it can fire .45 caliber or 410 shotshells

least watched premier in 5 years, down 40% in the 18-49 year old demographic, which is seriously this shows bread and butter.

I walked away from the spinoff, I'll walk away from this one too eventually, but honestly I think it will end in exactly 4 more seasons.

This season is going to be about putting Negan in a cage.

Next season is going to introduce Alpha and the Whisperers.

Season after is going to be resolving that threat.

Final season is going to be a message of hope, with the final scene showing the animals catching the virus with the implication being there is absolutely no hope for humanity.

it was real easy to walk away from fear because it was always garbage.

twd really did have a handful of moments that transcended genre and were quite definitively art.

beyond the dreamy static shots and incredible photography we used to see.. we are talking about a show where a 7 year old girl killed her 5 year old sister because she wanted her to turn zombie and live forever and not be scared anymore.

    i mean...

oh oh oh and then carol shot her in the fucking head because what else can you do with that.

i think i keep watching because i just want to be there when their luck runs out and their stupidity catches up with them. i might be waiting a while.

also 100% confirmed somehow they are going to facilitate a tie-in / crossover between the walking dead & fear of the walking dead, despite the latter taking place in southern california / san diego and walking dead taking place in georgia.

so i assumed the tie in was going to be some fear tards showing up in georgia but someone else had a far more likely and infinitely stupider theory:

they are going to resurrect one of the 'fan favorites' and insert them into the fear timeline, which takes place like 8 or 9 years before twd i guess?

-800 its glen. he's literally the only actor that can play that young still.

i cant think of another character anyone really gave a shit about enough to make them tune into fear.

yeah, everything you just posted is wrong

    no where near 8-9 years

the popular theory is abraham, since he came from houston, which they have mentioned possibly going to and are not that far from

you can tell they have been waiting to uncork the 'rick kills a dude then finds his baby' scene for like the entire series.

so no one knows how to actually shoot straight unless of course its part of a totally not cliche oooo we're surrounded hah psyche we surrounded the surrounders ambush, and for absolutely no reason maggie is now regarded as sun tzu.

bonus shout out to morgan having some sort of psychotic break because the writers have absolutely no idea how else to move his character on the chessboard.
