thought the episode was really good
except for the fact that has already been pointed out - that anyone could have shot negan and ended the war

The shitting pants line was HOF I mean c'mon
saw the Season 8 Episode 1...yeah someone could have shot Negan, but hold off criticism of on that because the reason no shooting may be revealed later on in the season--seems like there may be a lot of backfill coming in the next few episodes and that may explain a lot
still, i liked the firearm porn...and particularly that the Taurus Judge was featured--it can fire .45 caliber or 410 shotshells

least watched premier in 5 years, down 40% in the 18-49 year old demographic, which is seriously this shows bread and butter.

I hate that I can’t walk away from this piece of shit show.
I walked away from the spinoff, I'll walk away from this one too eventually, but honestly I think it will end in exactly 4 more seasons.
This season is going to be about putting Negan in a cage.
Next season is going to introduce Alpha and the Whisperers.
Season after is going to be resolving that threat.
Final season is going to be a message of hope, with the final scene showing the animals catching the virus with the implication being there is absolutely no hope for humanity.

it was real easy to walk away from fear because it was always garbage.
twd really did have a handful of moments that transcended genre and were quite definitively art.
beyond the dreamy static shots and incredible photography we used to see.. we are talking about a show where a 7 year old girl killed her 5 year old sister because she wanted her to turn zombie and live forever and not be scared anymore.
i mean...
oh oh oh and then carol shot her in the fucking head because what else can you do with that.

so i assumed the tie in was going to be some fear tards showing up in georgia but someone else had a far more likely and infinitely stupider theory:
they are going to resurrect one of the 'fan favorites' and insert them into the fear timeline, which takes place like 8 or 9 years before twd i guess?
-800 its glen. he's literally the only actor that can play that young still.
i cant think of another character anyone really gave a shit about enough to make them tune into fear.

just... terrible.
you can tell they have been waiting to uncork the 'rick kills a dude then finds his baby' scene for like the entire series.

also people are saying the walker with his skin torn off means the whisperers are happening in the nearish future.

was a better episode than last one at least so ill give it that
prob get a couple clues thru the series that the whisperers are a thing then final episode of the season negan is in his cell everyone is happy saviors are defeated life is good then oh shit look the whisperers are here fade to black and see you for season 9
so no one knows how to actually shoot straight unless of course its part of a totally not cliche oooo we're surrounded hah psyche we surrounded the surrounders ambush, and for absolutely no reason maggie is now regarded as sun tzu.
bonus shout out to morgan having some sort of psychotic break because the writers have absolutely no idea how else to move his character on the chessboard.
