Sue Bird, the classic "girl next door", just officially came out of the closet. I have no problem with her sexual preference but I just can't see large numbers of fathers bringing their school age daughters who are interested in sports to these games. The league is so dominated by lesbians that apparently heterosexual players have been harassed by their teammates. Much like Ellen Page, the question surrounding Bird has always been an open secret, though the only social situation that I ever saw her in was as former Giants backup quarterback Jesse Palmer's date at a UCONN game after her college career had ended. Either he knowingly was her beard or the date probably didn't end the way he hoped it would.

If you have daughters or something I still think this is a shitty reason to keep your girls away from B-Ball. Maybe lesbians gravitate towards sport more and they most certainly stick with it more as they get older but I seriously doubt gayness rubs off on people... I could see it possibly influencing a girl in the "try it once" way but not in the "my entire body chemistry changed becuse my sports idol doesn't like boys, this is gonna be my life now" way.

Also, if I'm a Dad, the thought of my daughter being a lesbian becomes less horrible sounding the very moment D'Brickashaw comes a knockin.
