    One of my best-played hands of limit holdem ever -- March 2015

    Cliffs: Almost dragged a $1400 pot at $30/$60 limit holdem (almost 47 BB) with 55 unimproved. Was a favorite going into the river.

    ================================================== ============

    Hero UTG 6-handed $30-$60 with 55
    UTG+1 is an aggromonkey who 3-bets super light
    BTN is short stacked ($255)
    SB/BB unknown

    Pre:
    Hero raises
    UTG+1 3-bets
    BTN calls cold
    SB caps
    BB calls cold
    Hero calls
    UTG calls

    Pot = $600

    Flop 8d3d3s

    SB checks (put him on overcards)
    BB checks (put him on overcards)
    Hero bets
    UTG+1 calls (put him on shit, he raises here with any pair for sure)
    BTN raises
    SB thinks a long time and calls 2 cold
    BB calls 2 cold
    Hero decides he's ahead of everyone (except short stack maybe) and 3 bets
    UTG+1 calls
    BTN caps ($15 behind)
    SB calls
    BB calls

    Pot = $1200

    Turn = 7h

    SB checks
    BB checks
    Hero bets
    UTG+1 folds
    BTN calls $15 all-in
    SB calls
    BB calls

    Pot = $1395

    River = Qh

    SB checks
    BB checks
    Hero checks

    SB shows KsQs
    BB shows Jc9d
    BTN shows AhTd

    SB wins $1395

    Damn.

    Of course, any 9/T/J/Q/K/A beats me, but not only was I ahead on the turn, but I was more likely than not to have my hand hold.

    Would have bet any low blank.

    And I knew it. And I knew I was fucked on the river (though that was fairly obvious).

    board was 8 3 3 7 Q

    a lot more than that beats you here. the 8, the 7, the 3 (it's lhe and people see flops even when its capped) and of course any other PP higher than 5.

    Fascinating. Do you happen to remember what you were wearing and what you ate that day?

    Oh, and did you catch a cold?
