Not too relevant, but a little relevant. Somalian kid killed a college student at my minnesota university. He was sentenced to a year in jail, then deported back to somalia. Apparently life in Somalia, with that mark on his passport about being convicted of murder in the USA, so he'll never be able to go to a civilized country, is a much worse sentence than life in the cushy Minnesota prisons.

The officers drove south through the alley between Washburn and Xerxes avenues toward West 51st Street in search of a suspect. All squad lights were off.

As they reached West 51st Street, Officer Harrity indicated that he was startled by a loud sound near the squad. Immediately afterward Ruszczyk approached the driver’s side window of the squad. Harrity indicated that Officer Noor discharged his weapon, striking Ruszczyk through the open driver’s side window.

WTF?!!! Who fucking trains these asshole cops??? This is how some in another state shot a woman while she was standing on her front porch. And the woman they shot wasn't the threat. Her husband had asked the police to go to house to tell his wife that he was okay, but that his car had broken down. They'd had a bad argument and he had left in a huff. Somehow this message got garbled through dispatch/cop telephone game to there being a "domestic dispute" and she was armed and looking for him.

Two cops were sent out to he house. As they approached her house all quiet like with the squad car lights off. She heard something outside and came out onto the porch holding a shotgun. The cops saw her with the shotgun and shot her. Instead of playing Rambo-Stealth Mode, if those assholes had simply turned on their squad lights when arriving and announced themselves, she'd be alive. Same fucking shit here! Dumb motherfuckers!!!

Now, here's the kick to the teeth: The husband heard the shots through his phone while he was on the phone with the third cop on scene discussing he matter in more detail, and how it was cool. He'd just needed to drive off and blow off some steam. And very shortly after he been connected by dispatch to a third cop who had arrived on scene after the first two, he heard the shots over the phone and an officer yell "Shots fired!" True fucking story.

Seriously, who the fuck are training these fucking idiots??!!!

kind of a loonmanding but i didnt see it mentioned; this guy had been in a 'fast track' cadet program designed to hustle college grads through at an accelerated rate.

im sure somehow that the architects of that program didnt ever imagine a degree from 'the mogudishu school of albino body parts witchcraft' would be eligible.

Depends on who you talk to...the Police Chief swears up and down there's no such thing as a fast track.

Incidentally, the Chief was asked to resign by the mayor, Betsy Hodges. A white woman who makes a huge public display out of wearing a hijab any time she's within 50ft of a muslim man.

There's also uproar about a search warrant being executed on the victim's home, looking for random shit like hair, bodily fluids, and weapons. The claim has been made that it wasn't targeting the victim, but another unspecified person. Some are claiming the search warrant is going to cause an international incident (lol).

Mohammed Noor (cop who pulled the trigger) has requested that 3 unauthorized Gofundme pages be removed. He also has yet to speak to the BCA about the incident, as it is his right to not give them any testimony or statement. the Mpls PD Internal Affairs investigation can (and probably will) make an interview compulsory, but any testimony can't be used in a criminal proceeding. It can only be used as grounds for dismissal or other sanctions on his employment with the MPD.

in other words, bunch of rabble rabble rabble

Oh, also there is witness testimony, supposedly from a person who rode bike past the incident and stopped to observe after the gunshot that the woman "slapped" the back of the patrol vehicle with her open hand at some point just prior to the shooting. No word from LarryLaffer as to what else he saw though.

Formally charged with 3rd degree murder and arrested today.

    https://www.twincities.com/2018/03/2...mond-shooting/

“There is no evidence that, in that short timeframe, Officer Noor encountered, appreciated, investigated, or confirmed a threat that justified the decision to use deadly force,” the criminal complaint stated. “Instead, Officer Noor recklessly and intentionally fired his handgun.”

    <snips>

Noor’s police partner — who was in the driver’s seat and said he had a better vantage point than Noor — reported he couldn’t tell if the person who was approaching was a male or female, adult or child, and he couldn’t see the person’s hands, Freeman added.

“What is the threat that requires the use of deadly force?,” Freeman said, who added the complaint states that Noor “did not act objectively reasonably … and abused his authority to use deadly force.”

Third-degree murder is defined in Minnesota law as “(w)hoever, without intent to effect the death of any person, causes the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life.” The maximum sentence is 25 years in prison.

Damn. The people of Minnesota are cold m'fers. They couldn't have just given him a free pass in the spirit of improving race/culture relations?

Probably no-one that has a lot of options. But not a lot of jobs for people with no real skills where you make $45k+/year plus great pension. My dad was a career police officer. He put in his 30 years and retired with guaranteed benefits the rest of his life and a pension that pays him his inflation injected top income for the rest of his life. Still probably hard to beat that.
