Best current stand-up comedian in your opinion

Phil Hartman and David Letterman are not stand-up comedians strictly speaking but you
can't get much funnier than this.
Letterman, is possibly overlooked by some but he is as quick as they
get. When you can get a guy like Hartman to laugh you're doing ok

I mean...Chappelle is the answer here. There is no way around it. Louis and Bill are funny....but they both build up their bits for a year+ before we see them do it. Dave is the most...."naturally funny".

Actually, I would vote for Norm Macdonald, but thats just me.

I used to really like Lewis Black, back in his Daily Show days, before he became only about politics.

My wife and I saw Chris Rock recently...he's still got it. Judah Friedlander opened the show and was surprisingly good.

She really likes Christian Finnegan...we've seen him a few times and he is always good.

Aziz Ansari was good and deserves mention in this thread too.

I'd like to see Louis C.K. but have never seen him live.

I loved Seinfeld the show but Seinfeld the comedian was a little bit of a letdown. Even bigger letdown was David Cross...he did a very uncomfortable anti-gun bit that drew some very creepy heckling from the audience...to the point where we were getting ready to run out the door if the weirdo heckler started shooting up the show.

Worst comic ever by far was Bobby Slay. If you want to see the worst ever, look him up sometime.

David Cross is such a funny, talented person but he just doesnt seem to carry it well on-stage.

Odenkirk was sincere when he said David was 'the funniest person he ever met' and with Mr Show, it worked out great for them. But a stand-up comic that doth not make.

I'm glad hes out there doing his thing and I want him to keep getting gigs and making a good living but maybe not so much that I drag my ass to one of his shows?

I don't know if he still does stuff but five years or so ago someone forced me to watch Jim Gaffigan and the guy is just amazing. There's no way I would have ever watched him on my own, and I ended watching everything he had after that. He starts himself off at a huge disadvantage by going G rated. To think that someone could make it in this day and age as a completely clean comic is mind blowing. And he's very very funny.

Yah I dig Gaffigan. The audience voice thing is unique and clever too. Missed him here in town. Were starting to get some comic heat hit Nova Scotia, which is god.
