King's Casino Owner Allegedly Rips Off High Stakes Player

Leon Tsoukernik, the owner of the King's Casino in the Czech Republic is being sued by high stakes player "Aussie Matt" for 2 milly over failure to repay a loan at this WSOP...If you watched the Aria Super High Roller cash game last year you will recognize Aussie Matt...

Think it's ok to post a link to that other site so here's where you can read the subpoena...

    http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...-2mil-1672483/

Aussie Matt got Chesnoff as a lawyer...interesting...

Good to see caesars is doing business with such quality individuals...par for the course for these fucktards...

Yes, it's fine to both link to 2+2 and copy/paste single posts from over there which are related to scams/frauds in poker/gambling.

Anyway, yeah, it looks like Matthew Kirk of Australia is suing Leon Tsoukernik for $2 million, regarding unpaid loans used by Leon to play at the Aria.

Doesn't look good for Leon here. I have to say I believe Kirk in this situation, without even knowing much about it.

All of a sudden, Justin Bonomo looks a hell of a lot more correct in his accusations against Leon regarding that Super High Roller tournament.

I definitely would not want to play poker anywhere against Leon where he could possibly have had some influence to give himself an edge.

This article claims that Tzoukernik isn't necessarily broke, but just a sore loser.

It was written 10 months ago, and it claimed that he refused to pay back a $3 million loss at Casino Barcelona because he felt he was being cheated.

I'm guessing this situation at Aria (where $2 million was loaned to him during the game) is probably similar.

This will be hilarious if Leon claims he was cheated. I mean what else can he claim? Also I don't know when the super high roller bowl was but if it was after this and he actually wasn't playing with his own money it's even more hilarious. No doubt in my mind Leon put off his gangster persona on this Australian guy and didn't imagine he'd ever get lawyers involved.

I'm fucking lazy, but believe that Aria tourney was memorial day weekend which mean this loan would be around/during that aria high roller tourney this year...

just thinking about this...how much teeth does this lawsuit have?

cant imagine they can hunt leon down if he stays in Europe...and can they even get him for this if he comes back into the states anywhere outside of Nevada?

Sure, for 1 million dollars they will go to a lot of effort to collect.

agree 100%...but effort and actually being able to get a dime from this guy if he stays in Europe might be two different things...

He could be such a degen that even though he makes money hand over fist he actually shot it all off this summer or at least shot off enough where he is has to sell shit to pay him which he doesn't want to do. I don't put him on never coming back to America over this so "not being able to track him down" won't matter. I bet that it is reported that he paid back within a week. With maybe some lame vague excuse as to why he was slow.

agree with the whole not coming back to America thing...probably will be tough for him to stay away...

browsed through that thread on 4 and supposedly leon is a really shitty loser and whenever he does lose he blames it on him being cheated or some other bullshit like that...he might have a touch of an ego problem...so doesn't look like he pissed it away in the pits, he was basically trying to freeroll aussie matt and didn't think he'd ever get sued for it...whoopsie...

This sort of thing is more common than you think.

About 2 years ago, a well known Commerce limit holdem fish played someone I know heads up in a different casino, and lost $100k (that is, the fish lost).

Unfortunately, the fish, who was known to be rich but sometimes short on cash at the casino, played the guy on credit.

So when the match was over, the fish owed $100k.

Well, the fish went back to Commerce and talked about what happened. Not wanting the fish to be dejected about losing $100k and perhaps quitting poker, the regulars there convinced him that he was probably cheated in some way (even though it was heads up), and told him not to pay.

The fish then contacted the opponent and told him, "I'm giving you $40k, and you should be happy with it, because I should be giving you zero. I know you cheated me."

    And that was that.

    Pretty fucked up story.

I only heard about this recently. I told them that they should sue this guy (coincidentally I discussed it just days BEFORE this Leon story came out), and the guy just told me he wasn't going to bother for various reasons I won't bother getting into.

Anyway, beware when loaning a fish money to play poker with him, because he may never pay you, even if he has the money.

in the late 80's Stuey Ungar was at the bike playing Roger King (of Kings World Entertainment) in a ring game with Johnny Chan, and a few others.

King was such a drunk fish. Losts 100's of thousands to stuey (on credit.)

king tried to pull almost the same thing, alleging that Stuey and the crew got him piss drunk and took him for all his money.

Stuey collected, but only after he tracked down King to his fancy hotel (the Beverly Wilshire Hotel) and with his friend Mike Salem, got a check for $75,000. Stuey didn't think King was gonna pay anything, so he just took the check even though it was 25k less than what he was owed.

On his way out, he stops, and turns around and says "Roger, this isn't going to work."

"what do you mean that's a check for 75000 dollars"

"I know Rich, but you see, it's made out to me, and I can't cash it. Make it out to my friend Mike here"

Interesting to try to figure out how this casino got partnered with the WSOP. If you go to their site you can take a google tour. They say they are expanding but for now the place is very small. I'd guess like 50 machines max and five or six table games tables. There are tons of poker tables buuuuut the place is in the middle of nowhere. The village where the casino is has a population less than 1000. I would imagine business must be very very slow during non event days. Plusss if he really is gangstered up he could easily have way less money than what he lets on and only a percentage of the business.

caesars is a broke ass joke of a company and will take money from anybody who will give it to them...honestly theres really not much more to say than that...this isn't a strategic partnership or anything like that...leon was probably like, ill build it and give you some 6 figure sum to let me do it and the fucktards at caesars were probably like 'WOO HOO, NEW REVENUE STREAM!!!'

id be willing to wager a lot of money that if druff coughed up a few tourney buyins he could have the PFA logo stenciled on all the felts at the wsop...

How can this guy make Millions?

I was some years ago in the Kings Casino in Rozvadov.

Lots of tournament tables, but not so much slots & roulette.

And as we all know, poker tables waste space etc. and dont bring much profit.

The Story just got juicer regarding this EuroDonk.. check out the article on CalvinAyre.Com

    https://calvinayre.com/2017/08/15/po...-tsang-part-2/

Apparently he rolled Elton Tsang for over $2M Euros as well and apparently got pissed when Phillipe Grussiem called him out for not paying up (Grussiem apparently is a horse for Tsoukenik).
Guy is a first rate thief and scammer problem is with his connections and financial ties elsewhere he likely wont get called out as much as he should.. Truth be told the he shouldn't be given action but the issue is he's such a donk that he loses so he's definitely +EV to play against however he has proven now repeatedly he wont pay up what he's owes to others..

Judge splits decision on $3M exchange at Las Vegas poker table

Lawyers for a poker player who exchanged $3 million in a high stakes game at Aria said Monday that they’re still going after the money that wasn’t returned despite a ruling that the transaction amounted to an unenforceable gambling debt.
District Judge Linda Marie Bell threw out eight of 10 claims from a June lawsuit over the riches, but decided that Australian Matthew Kirk could still pursue the money he believes Czech casino owner and entrepreneur Leon Tsoukernik owes him, along with potential punitive damages, on accusations known as fraudulent inducement and unjust enrichment.

The judge ruled that gambling debts are not enforceable and “whether in the form of casino chips, cash, or gold bars, Mr. Tsoukernik received a loan for wagering against Mr. Kirk.”
Bell’s order was made public less than a week before Thursday’s start of the World Series of Poker Europe, held this year at Tsoukernik’s King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
But the judge also pointed out that “Tsoukernik entered into the contract intending to use its unenforceability to refuse repayment. If proven, this could place Mr. Tsoukernik at the greatest moral fault in this matter.”
Tsoukernik initially repaid Kirk $1 million, but refused to return the rest.

Kirk’s lawyers, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, plan to focus their pursuit of the cash on those two claims.
“We’re pleased with the court’s ruling that we are able to maintain our lawsuit and seek damages from the defendant,” Schonfeld said.
Before the two prominent poker figures squared up for a one-on-one poker match in the early morning hours of May 27, Kirk pushed chips in various denominations across the felt to Tsoukernik. At least two other people were at the table in the high-stakes Ivey Room while the exchange occurred, according to video surveillance of the game.[...]
