This is insane. I don't think anyone has missed a putt inside of 20 ft all day.
Holy shit Justin Thomas those two 3 woods were CRAZY!!
Shot 63 Like it wasn't nothin, what a round.
man those 3 woods by Thomas on 15 and 18 were really sexy...jesus...
EDIT: damn didn't know he missed that eagle putt at 15...fuck that was a tailor made 62...

note to self...only English golfer worth trusting while in contention is Justin rose...
Gonna have to hedge with Harmon and Fleetwood these fags that decided to crash the party. Love that mess Fleetwood made of 18 cost him 2 shots easy.
ho hum...Matsuyama driver--3 wood from 285 to go long on the 605 yard par 5 first...
these guys are incredible...
wind + inexperienced major leaders...man I hope this wind stays up...
Tommy Fleetwood local to me and good a Everton fan.
Few good results on the tour this year and a really chilled out fellow. Hopefully doesn't tighten up.
if Thomas manages to follow that 63 up with 69 or better, win or not, that'll be a helluva round...
and he already put his drive in the shit on 1...
Rickey Fowler one time
-16 in US Open. Seven dudes -10 or better. Fucking joke. Turned US Open into John Deere Classic.
Spot on, but I don't know what the balance is either. Some of the greens in the US Open in the past are so ridiculous it does not even make it golf anymore.
The best US Open I have seen in the last 10 years was Merion back like 5 years ago. What was that, +1 that won it? Phil had the lead for the first 54 before collapsing. Actually it was not really a collapse he just got caught on the back 9.
Not saying +1 is the answer like Merion, but when -4 ties you for 21st at Erin Hills, that is quite absurd. The USGA is going to have to figure out something, because golf as a spectator sport is dying now that Tiger is done. I get the sense United States Golf is going the way of Men's Tennis from the 80s/90s and Nascar in the early 2000s. Right in the fucking toilet as a TV sport, the glory days are over.
Every sport seems to being cannibalized by Pro and College Football now. I saw an article the other day where a random Saturday night college football game featuring Alabama, Ohio State or Notre Dame gets better ratings than any Playoff Baseball or Playoff NBA game. The only exception was like a game 6 or 7 in a final series. NFL, just forget it, the other leagues get crushed.
The top 12 finishers were a combined -120.
They can't ever play at this course again, and I doubt they will.
There are plenty of US Open courses that dont *need* wind and rain to pay difficult. This clearly isn't one of them.
Basketball and Soccer have to be the fastest growing sports in the under 18 demographic....
